Another anecdote here. My prescription was -7.5 in each eye but steady and I got LASIK when I was 20. 7 years later and my vision has still held and I’m still 20/20. Would 100% recommend. Worth every penny and probably the best money I ever spent. I didn’t have any side effects.

Hey! Just from the into: I’m a listener and I have -9.0 prescription at 27y/o. Unfortunately, myopia (short sightedness) gets worse with age but usually stops mid 20s. It’s a bad idea to get lasik until it stops worsening, otherwise you’ll need glasses anyway. I became a bit of an armchair expert in it because my retina detached due to high myopia, and I had to go into surgery 3 months ago. On the plus side, all my floaters are gone because they removed all the fluid from my eye and replaced it with gas. It’s all good now though :) Make sure your family members with worse then -7 get pupil dilation exams! It saved my vision

I think (hope) the stronger push to specialisation cycles will lead to collection of data around absolute vs. relative maintance volume.

It’s funny you guys talked about Lasik on this podcast, I was considering it myself. -8.5 prescription in one of my eyes. I can’t see a thing without my glasses or context either lol
