It's.... hard. My poppy passed away when I was pregnant and knowing he never got to meet my son is torture especially because he was soooo excited for me. For years I thought I couldn't have kids, so when I found out I was pregnant it was a huge surprise and he nearly jumped out of his bed despite being bedridden for nearly 10 years prior to that. I think about him all the time and know he would have been obsessed with my boy.

I’m so fortunate to be able to have 16 years with my great grandpa and 17 with my great grandma. Growing up I thought everyone did. So I was so confused when nobody was talking about their great grandparents. I spent every day after school with them up until middle school. Losing my great grandpa was very hard, I think it was really hard on all of us great grandchildren. My little brother doesn’t understand what really happened so everytime we go over to their house he goes “gonna see pawpaw at Nanny’s house?” And it’s so sad. He doesnt understand that he’s not there. Our great grandpa was one of his favorite people.

Oh my goodness my heart absolutely melted watching you help Flynn with making the jam! My mom and dad would always find little ways to have me help in the kitchen when I was little, and they are still some of my favorite memories! That pampered chef veggie chopper was and still is my favorite to this day. I am in my second year at college, and I live alone so I usually cook for myself. I always think back to those memories, and seeing you do this with Flynn brought me so much joy. I have been having a really hard time with my mental health lately, and watching your videos daily, even with you going through stress with your voice/throat, has been so comforting. I'm feeling super overwhelmed. I'm pregnant & my due date is this Saturday & my Dr told me today that my daughter will most likely need to be in the NICU for the first week of her life. I never imagined I'd leave the hospital without her. This is my first & only baby & I don't know how to process all these emotions & fears coming up. I know you got thru it & other mama's have too. I really want to breastfeed & I hope I'm able to have that connection with her when she comes home. Our Dr is hopeful that she'll only need to stay for 1 week & I'll hopefully be there the first 3 days recovering. We get induced on Monday if she doesn't come earlier. Thank you for posting these vlogs & for showing your NICU experience bc at least I have an idea of what to expect when my baby is there. ❤

My daughter loved books the same way as Maisy, and that has never changed!!! She is now 22, and to this day, every birthday and Christmas wishlist is filled with book requests. I would not be surprised if it is just innate, though lots of summer reading clubs at our library definitely supported her passion. She is getting ready to graduate college and just got a full scholarship to graduate school, and I swear part of her success is due to that passion!!! Such a proud Mama I am, but the enjoyment reading gives her is a gift.

My family and I fostered ducklings during the pandemic and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. I loved every minute of it. We named them Norman and Pickles haha! Yay! So glad the sewing machine advice helped. I'm so proud of you for persevering and figuring that ish out. Flynn's gonna love those pants because Mama made them his size! Side note (and please disregard if it is too personal or seems intrusive): I just wanted to say, I see you, gurl, working your hardest to feel your best mentally and physically and I _know_ how hard that is. I am over here on this side of the internet shouting encouragement and wishing you wellness and peace and all the good things. When things seem dark and the struggle seems harder than usual, please know that there are a ton of us cheering you on from afar. That does not mean that you have to put on a happy face (and smiling for the internet, like Erik says! LOL) and you aren't letting ANYONE down when you feel overwhelmed and just can't hide it. Far from it. Life is HARD, even when we have a lot to be happy about. And that's OK. Just know that you are loved and that others are proud of you, always.
