I have a question, Does Mbits/s in video mean how good is the quality of the sensor? I mean if one camera shoots at 45 Mb/s and another camera at 30 Mb/s, the first one will look better??? Or it depends??? Please answer me!!! And full details, thanks.

Generally speaking the higher the bit rate the more information you will have in each frame of the video. The hero4 black at 4k @30fps can record up to 60Mb/s vs the hero3 silver can do up to 25Mb/s. So in every case the higher Bitrate will result in better looking video even if your watch the 4k footage on a 1080p display. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.

Majid Syed thanks for the reply, just one more question, lets say I have 2 different cameras with the same lens and the same aperture, and they both shoot at the same Mb/s, the image quality can vary cause of the quality of the sensor? Or having the same exact bitrate makes them exactly the same image quality?

Daniel Orozco the image quality can be different, if the cameras have different sensors. For example the canon c300 and canon 70d can both record 50Mb/s but the sensor on the c300 is designed for video and can record in 4:2:2 color space, plus its way better in lowlight. So your right having different image sensors can result in different video quality even if the bitrate is the same.

the difference between the 2 batteries is non existent. 20mAh less is nothing. The difference is on the two cameras and how they drain the battery.

I am still not sure what to buy. I want to use a gopro for motorcross. Anybody an idea? I was thinking the Hero 4 black edition, but now i am doubting if it is worth to spend 250 euro extra on it. Thing is, i don't have a 4 k monitor, so will i even notice the difference between the 2 cameras?

+Bert03021987 I have the Hero 3+ silver, and I would get the higher end 4 Black. I would go through eBay to get the lowest price if that is your concern. The Hero 3+ is great for day to day as the author said, however, the Hero 4 Black just gives you a much wider range to work with.
