I bought mine new when they first game out and I still use it. Basically for what I use it for, in the water, on my dirtbike and mountain biking I have no inclination to buy anything more expensive at this point given that this thing has been and still is a tank.

My wife bought me one of these in 2014/5 - I've not used it a lot, but it has been great for MTB footage over the years. It still looks like new, and give fantastic picture quality. I have just bought 2 replacement batteries (10Euro each), and I am good to go for another few years! I was recently looking to upgrade - the only thing I'd like is image stabilisation, but it's not worth 400Euro (the price of a GP 7 Black). All in all, this has been a great camera.

A friend gave me his dead hero 3 that was left outside in the rain for a week, discarded on the lawn during a party. One bucket of rice later and it's back to normal. Surprisingly versatile to have a little action cam for when you need it.

I bought one here in Brazil for the equivalent to US$60 to replace my latest session that I broke In a bike crash and worth every penny. The video quality is decent enough, as well the sound and battery life. The extra is the WiFi with the smartphone viewfinder. I would bought another one instead a brand new, because for my usage, GoPro hero 3 is completely adequate.

Thanks mate, great video. Goes to show that if you can get one of these cheap and throw it in a Chinese gimbal you'll get something actually KZbin worthy! Echoing other comments this still beats the non brand knockoffs. There are some great options fro the likes of Yi as you said but they're becoming increasingly less"budget".

Very nice review dude and subscribed. Not sure about the GoPro but loved your mini Honda. To me, ActionCam is a synonym for motion and without decent image stabilization, no matter what else comes in the package, it won't cut it for me. Having said that and looking at the price that appears well kept (If not increased) (in mid-2019), it has to say many good things about the tool, as you describe. Seriously hope to see GoPro7 Hero @ or below $200 line, by this coming BF.

Still a good for the money. I have tried the ISAW knock off's. Decent video quality but the video format is MOV. I had a heck of a time getting the audio and video to sync using my windows computer. I also couldn't find extra batteries. Seems the company discontinued the camera and the batteries as well. That's why I went with GoPro. At least you can get batteries from them.

usualy 3 hour of battery...dont record with the speakr bip on...it will interfere the micro recording.

Personally, I'd buy a new battery and a display for the 3+ It shouldn't cost $100 though. You can use a external mic with a adapter. Not a expensive adapter at all, other wise just record to a phone etc and merge the audio with video

seriously have used this camera for years and made money on it up until a few months ago. The only reason I stopped using it is because of salt water damage. I plan to buy it again for a beater action cam, for those unorthdox placements you don't want to put a 500 dollar camera at. The only downfall of this camera is batteries are quite shit and die in about 30 minutes of film time.
