The way you use words and the imagery to explain things is quite amazing. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Another brilliant video. Thank you for providing such clear explanations. Harmonic minor? I get what/why that is now.

You are going to love tri tone substitutions! On the ii V instead of the V to go back to the 1. Then again each Key's Chords also have tri tone inversions which in many respects is a way to expand each chordal mode harmonically all over the neck to expound upon the modal flavor. Then throwing in some passing tones but to make it really melodious choosing above and below key note passing tones. In other words playing outside the chord slightly for improved melody. All Fun I would love to see you cover one day soon. But the three notable outside note examples to a key are of course the Blue note, the harmonic minor that you touched upon and the tri tone substitution for the V chord.

What about the key signature? Are you saying that throughout the modes in the key of C, that the signature remains the same if we are playing the Phrygian mode? That just means Phrygian in C major, which would be E Phrygian, is simply the C major scale played over an E minor chord, but only if the key signature is C Maj? So, E minor, used as the ii chord in D Major, would have different notes than it would in C Major (E Dorian as opposed to E Phryigian)? Cannot be. This is confusing. Do the intervals change from key to key? (W,H,H,W,W,H,H) or do I just take the interval and move it such that D Dorian would simply require using that exact interval but starting on D?????

Dude ... that was a brilliant explanation ... one thing that always puzzled me was how a major chord would appear in a song when the key actually called for a minor (e.g. the E vs Em as the dominant of Am)... I get it now.
