Been watching for a few years, first comment. Have you ever considered using an auto darkening welding lense on the camera, so your viewers can watch you weld? Its one of the techniques we use when teaching industrial welders, what they should be looking for. Plus it could be ASMR or whatever the cool kids say, 😁

I'm right there right now myself man. Bought a motor from a guy that said it runs but when I got down to inspect it better found out that none of the cylinder held pressure. Took rods out and all the ring lands where cracked in multiple places. My car has been down for almost a whole year agian. But I've almost got all the pieces to do a mild engine build. I can't wait till I get it running again. Have been dreaming about driving it...lol

That crossmember piece you cut for the trans tunnel is the main rear support for those civics. Please make sure to beef that area up to prevent the car sandwiching itself

Follow up a grinder cut with a sawzall and a long blade and you can get a perfect cut irregular box steel! Keep up the great work!

Do a small drive shaft hoop on the bottom of where that brace was in the back he notched out for the drive shaft. That will also help stiffen the chassis in the place of all that missing material

Might know someone with a KA for ya. Last known to be running. The s13 was taken apart, getting the engine bay clean welded and painted. Idk if their intentions are to get the motor back in the car but I told him to put an SR in it XD. So that KA might be up for grabs. Message back if you want contact info. Located in Massachusetts.

Pull the head, clean and lap the valves, toss in a complete gasket kit and send it. You'll be in it a day and the cost of gaskets, fluids, and cleaning supplies. Get her running with this motor, blow it up for the views and then drop in a fresh good build. Great job guys. Save the turbo kit for a good motor. Send this one out with some spray.

Planning to put the lateral brace back in? without it the car is going to creak, moan and probably crack the welds all around the b pillars/rear seat deck. --even with the brace, stitch weld all the seams you can, and run a full, very well integrated cage.

Why not do the valve seals in place? There’s air compressed tool kits that you can do it. I use them regularly. They let you do valve seals in a couple hours easy.
