Exactly! Should be helping us out with our homeless problem instead. Alot of them are tweakers and have stolen from our property and goes through our trash and makes a mess we've had to kick them off our property an few times.

Curious why they don’t use a graffiti-resistant paint? Spray paint won’t stick to it. It would seem better than going out and repainting over and over. Maybe it doesn’t work on specific surfaces?

Because that's too expensive and if they spend too much they won't be able to extort the money each year they didn't spend it all so they can spend it on another ice skating ring so Kate brown and Ted wheeler can have a romantic date night. Duh.

Public visual expression has been going on since the beginning of time. It'll never stop. The action and funds by the state / government move way too slow / insufficient to make a long-lasting impact. Sure, there will be new patches of fresh beige along the freeway but we all know that won't last. This is a mobius strip. Planting ivy or installing a synthetic equivalent to thwart the smooth surface needed for tagging is probably too expensive. I remember being in the Louvre and walking through the ancient Egypt exhibit and seeing all the hieroglyphs. I rounded a corner and there was a wall with what I thought was more hieroglyphs but it was actually present day scratches in the stone. I could see names, dates, hearts, and other simple scratches of museum goers. Public visual expression is in our DNA.

Four million for graffiti clean up. I'm sure glad that everything else the city needs like affordable housing, homeless shelters, infrastructure maintainence, etc was taken care of so we had millions of dollars to go back to the beautiful sight of beige concrete 🙄

Why do they have to close down anything. In fact, why do we even have to see them remove it? The graffiti artists who put it all up did so without closure and with hardly anyone to witness it! Think about it.

I don't think you were the smartest kid in school clearly you would shut down the road for the safety of the workers On a busy highway and I don't think there's enough people that are willing to take a night shift incidentally most DWI'ers drive at night. I highly doubt that they want a lawsuit because they could have done safety precautions to keep their workers safe but decided not. Everyone else has to pay for what the graffiti artists did so why are you concerned about what they're doing and not the fact you should be taking pictures and calling the police of the people who are breaking the law in the first place rather than just driving by it. Think harder about it.

@@drcakeman I think you have taken things a bit too seriously. I own a towing company, and I agree, working on the roadside is dangerous especially the 84 between 205 and 5. Friday and Saturday nights are the most dangerous, but the rest of the nights, in the dead of night, is not so bad. I'm more afraid of the rush hour drivers, distracted, in a hurry to get to work or home and not paying attention, on their phones, in their heads. I like it better at night. And when are most of the roadwork done? At night. Sad to see how much PDX looks like L.A. Also sad to see how the Fremont Bridge all over on the east end with all the interchanges looks likes crap with peeling paint all over the place. Been that way since I moved here in 2013. Almost think the graffiti on that area is an improvement.

@@jessedorsettii9988 "I think you have take things a bit too seriously" I don't think the world is serious enough. You'll have more daytime workers if it's all done at night might take longer regardless they might also do it at night, But for now they rather just shut down a road. How can you not be serious about your life? You only get one of those I want to make it far. You have to have your stuff together to be a good person living in this evil world. Maybe I was a bit rude. I just rather do science than listen to half the people out making me bitter and feel like I always know better I guess. I wish I could just become the ultimate tool and join the military as a high ranking officer and take care of some of these problems myself. You'll take life way more serious when you realize the danger you did not have to put yourself in if you had studied the situation before relying on split second decisions.

@@jessedorsettii9988 Also I been on the range training with officers since I was 9 years under the Portland chief police dropping grands of brass training for any possible combat and any possible threat even biological. Sad yes. The people who should be in power got old and suffer from alzheimers disease. Why should slow down or ease up while RU and cartels seek control of my homeland with the possible goal of making me and my people weaker.

Correct. The politicians throwing our tax dollars away like this should be arrested and prosecuted. They should address the homelessness, addiction, crime, deteriorating roadways instead of continuously painting over paint.

What’s the issue? Poortland is artistic and graffiti is just sheep freely expressing themselves. You should be happy. Why are you not happy?
@drcakeman
@drcakeman 4 ай бұрын
Art doesn't technologically advanced a nation making us weaker to our enemies making it less happy beacuse less people care about real jobs leaving a wide open gap for cartels to traffic. Freedom of expression doesn't bypass common law such as destruction of property or vandalism. I personally think they are the worst people on the planet and I'd rather go to a dinner party with a Gaddafi or Kim Jong-Un and risk being taken prsioner or worse than have a conversation with a graffiti artist.
