idler pulley more than likely on the 95
@benfuoco184 жыл бұрын
to stop the grinding in reverse, you have to go into 1st gear then reverse. This is common with the T5 trans. Pull the HVAC controls and there is a cable that controls the Hot and Cold settings. Also check to see if if the HVAC controls is plugged into harness, and also check the fuse to see if it is blown. Check also the blower motor under the glove box.There are 4 bolts that hold the seats down. very easy to fix. This is for the 92 Fox. With the 95, the belt tensioner may be worn and need to be replaced. Also change the belt and oil. Maintenance is key and these Ford 302 last. Hope this helps.

Your temperature selection knob (hot/cold) is operated via cable. The same kind as hand brakes on your bike. The wire inside gets rusty and seizes over time. You'll just have to replace the cable. Not a big deal. Don't try to force it to move again. I made that mistake and broke some plastic gears behind the knob and had to replace more than I would have needed to.

That, my friend, is an excellent point!!! Manual transmissions are quickly becoming a thing of the past. They used to call them STANDARD transmissions but, now they hardly produce them any more because of computer-controlled automatics where you can select different types of driving with a touch screen. The older generation know about this stuff because, back in the day, automatics were for luxury cars and Mom's station wagons. The newer automatics are cool and all but, I can't imagine what it might cost to fix those things when they go bad!

Most likely on your '95, it's that idler pulley that's only held by a single bolt. It's that solo little pulley that's dead center of engine, it's only there to keep the belt tension. They cost around $8--12 on Rock Auto. Takes 2-3 minutes to change out.
@05gtdriver4 жыл бұрын
You can check it by removing the serpentine belt(a large screwdriver against the tensioner to release the tension on belt) and spin the offending pulley by hand. If it's not 100% smooth & noise free plus makes any grinding/binding sounds, it's bad.

Guessing you had a P0401. The EGR is almost never the problem so cleaning or replacing it won't fix the problem. When it's clogged it's usually clogged on the vacuum side where the EGR bolts to the intake.Also the DPFE sensors go bad all the time and sometimes the vacuum lines to the DPFE are broken or mixed up, make the vacuum line from the small port of the EGR tube is going to the small port of the DPFE and the big port to the big port. Also could be the EGR not getting vacuum. All these things will throw the same P0401 code.
@GirlsDigMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did have a P0401 code. The code is still not gone from cleaning the EGR valve out. Someone mentioned on here I need to disconnect the battery for 10 min then hopefully it stays off. So I will try that next. But thank you so much for the information🙏. This is extremely helpful 😀

Nice cars. Do you normally work on them in a church parking lot ?!? I have a 1992 F150 and the EGR valve has been a pain in the butt. The original one was causing the check engine light to come on. So I got a new one, and no more check engine light but it tends to come on too soon or open too far and cause the truck to stall sometimes, especially when I have the a/c on. I think the aftermarket ones you get from the auto parts stores aren't always so good.

@@GirlsDigMustangs yes it looks just like yours but it's an auto, upgraded alternator, replaced steering rack, power steering pump, fuel pump, back brakes, changed oil, trans fluid, brake fluid, plugs, installed explorer intake, 24 lb injectors with calibrated maf, window channel molding, painted mirrors as they were faded, drives like a new car, heater works!

It's actually running pretty good lol! (well as good as you can probably imagine from a truck from 1975 haha). It drove just fine to this parking lot 😆

Can't hurt to replace the belt, kinda sounds like a bearing noise squeak
@GirlsDigMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Yeah true...many people are saying it's the throwout bearing
@caveman61419694 жыл бұрын
It’s the belt tensioner or the idler pulley going bad. That’s what produces that chirpy sound. Check the ribbed side of the belt for cracks. I have a 95 gt I bought new and it’s white also. Good luck.

Id suggest doing a base idle reset on your foxbody to set the rpm's right
@SkipsGunz4 жыл бұрын
For the fox body put the car in 1st and then reverse everytime it sounds dum but works

I have a 1988 Ford Thunderbird turbocoupe. It is a fox body also. She is ready for the road. Just wait for the DMV to open after covid 19 is over ...

Are they completely closed now?? When I went to register and title my Fox Body they only had the drive-through open. It took HOURS!

Hey stanggirl!! U are for real!! Lol..i just caught your vid. I absolutely love the 92Fox. I don't know what everyone's been say about the issues. But when ever u have electrical issues in the car check your fuses first to rule out the simplest problem! Its right under the dash over your left leg. They are all labelled. Power doors windows and your auxiliary fan which gives you the defrost n heat /ac. Could be just a fuse!! Your vids are fiyahhhh🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@GirlsDigMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Haha you are so awesome for real!!! I will definitely check the fuses first 😃

@@GirlsDigMustangs the fox heat and actually runs off vacuum lines and more than likely the reason the knob won't work.

The sn95 sounds like a throwout bearing on the clutch , Press the clutch while it’s running if it goes away then it’s a throw out bearing , Will need to remove the transmission to get to it!!
@GirlsDigMustangs4 жыл бұрын
So I pressed the clutch and the squeaking went away
@zackhuber58544 жыл бұрын
Yup bad throw out bearing or stretched cable had to change a couple on my 94 gt make sure you get the throw out bearing from your local dealer and it's actually ford motor company

If you have trouble getting into reverse, put it into 1st and pull forward slightly... The reverse lock in the tremecs is weird like that.

What part of the country you in. Local mustang clubs can help with issues that may come up in the future.

For the foxbody not going back to idle check your idle air controller on your throttle body, mine went bad and I had the same symptoms but now it’s perfectly fine
@stevebarcelo75774 жыл бұрын
Push the clutch pedal in on the 95 and see if the noise goes away. If it does it when your foot is off the pedal and goes away when you push is it then it’s your throw out bearing (very common issue).
@STROKED.4 жыл бұрын
Try removing belt then start car to see if the noise still there. My guess could be the alternator bearing or tensioner pulley bad.
@GirlsDigMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Hopefully that won't be too difficult of a repair! 🙏

Yeah, not too bad at all. Just matter of replacing component.

Love 💗 you’re rides! It’s a pulley. I have a Taurus and a sable Regular oil works as will . It’s probably the tension pulley. I just spray a squirt of oil on both and dies the trick. Belt conditioner works for like one day for me vs reg oil

I like your excitement about mustangs and have subscribed to your channel. I have had 5 in my life from a 89 to a 2016. I miss my fox body the most. Yes the newer mustangs are faster from the factory. They handle better and are more comfortable but there is nothing like the feel of my 89. I am looking forward to seeing how all your cars turn out.
