Right. Gas savings varies by so many factors - how much you drive, how you drive, MPG of your current car, grades of gas you're using, etc. I also drive very little and only save about $40-50 each month. My insurance went up way higher than what I save on gas. Let's put it that way

The prices you’re showing for existing inventory is the price with the 7500 tax savings and gas savings. You cannot buy an model Y for those prices if you make over the income threshold and if you remove the fake-ish savings (that are real, but accrue over many years and and at a minimum should be discounted for cost of money given the current interest rate and inflation environment).

I just purchased a 2025 Model Y from inventory. I sold my used Model E. I am very happy with my decision. I compared the existing Model Y features with the upcoming release. I like the new design a bit better. And, It does have ventilated seats and upgraded suspension. However, I do not think those coveted features justifies waiting and paying more money for a car. My big discount plus Fed rebate made my purchase of the long range awd around $39,000. That is a crazy good price. I am very confident that the pricing structure of the Jupiter model will not be even close to that number. With a new refresh, there could be production problems like panel gaps and other irritating issues. Also, it appears the battery pack is the same as the current model and mileage difference is only 10 miles more. This may be due to the more streamlined body. Newer is always better when it comes to EVs. But the current Y is a great car and I hope people consider it as an option.

I would like to see the Tesla vehicles not loose features. Elon should share some "regulatory credit" discounts off the purchase price on their vehicles. Some of the money Tesla got from other gas car manufacturing company credits, given as discounts for us when buying a Tesla. Also, I would really like to see a hatchback. Not a pointed missile, just a normal looking front wheel drive suv/ hatchback vehicle.

I would hope for stripped down, maybe cloth seats over software lock. The problem with software lock is that for instance with heated seats, the element is already in the seats, and you already paid for it in the msrp. If the hardware is in the car, you paid for it with the msrp, expecting more money for something you paid for is bs imo.

If the federal $7,500 tax credit is eliminated, it will become crucial to reduce costs on existing models. This is why I believe production will be shifted to existing assembly lines rather than the new "unboxed" line intended for the Cybercab, despite my preference for the latter approach.

I'm looking at 2018-19 Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor cars that are $15,000 and under 120,000 miles. That's a LOT of car for that kind of money. And I don't have to worry about if some idiot hardly ever changed the oil or tranny fluid.

Once Model Y Highland is available for test drive, I think a review of the handling would be very useful. How much it is improved might be a differentiator between 3 and Y. I’m leaning 3 now because the old Y was too beefy when driving. Something that could be a new series of videos would be deep dives on software features/navigation. Either rebrand the Tutorials playlist or just build it out more fully under the existing name.

If Tesla makes a cheaper car (which is a huge if in my opinion), they would strip down features, make them an option, and software lock. They already do this with the LR variants - unlock an extra 0.5 seconds on the 0-60 time for only $2k. They have to be pretty careful which features they software lock - like BMW faced a lot of backlash for making heated seats a subscription.

The problem with teslas pricing is that they automatically include EV tax credit and and and gas savings over 5 years rolled into the price! So while it looks like they are 28-30k remove those two things and all of a sudden your at 41k 😂😂😂 Tesla will always apply these two check boxes on for every page refresh 😂 all this content is misleading due to this price structure which is a lie

My idea for the cheaper Tesla could be the following... Cybercab design with rear seats added. Rear window. No rear screen that you get with the new model 3/y. Downgraded sound system. Steering wheel and brakes. Turn signal stalk. Made using the unboxing process. Sell it for $25,000 and call it the model C That way the cost to produce will be greatly reduced due to the design and the fact that it will not have so many bells and whistles that the 3 and Y have as well as the unboxing process. That would allow people who want FSD robot axis to buy/rent the Cybercab and those who love to drive can buy the 'model C'' The bonus being that Tesla would make profit per car regardless of if it was the Cybercab or the 'model C' plus make money ride taken in a Cybercab. That is just my idea so take it with a grain of salt.

I like the way the new Model Y looks. I think it is a huge improvement over the current model. I prefer the original Model 3 over the new one. Kind of funny. I really don't like the way the doors open in the taxi. There is no way I could get out of my taxi in my garage, if that is what the $25,000 car ends up being. Sheesh, they have already removed everything off the dashboard and steering column already, and now there is just an iPad sitting in the middle of the car with an empty shelf made of plastic underneath it.
