I also like the idea that Ra chose Abaddon. Maybe even a moment of understanding between Ra and Abaddon? Ra and Abaddon were fighting but Abaddon was on the worse end of the fight - but as you said Ra realised that Abaddon was the best possible protector of Drach'nyens power because he'll never truly use it. Like Abaddon would burn entire planets and solar systems and not blink an eye, but unleashing Drach'nyen would be going too far in the war AND he'd lose whatever control he had over Chaos. The Champion of Chaos still having a slight bit of human there too simply because he views Chaos as a weapon, not as a truth would make him more than a "I'll get you next time you melding Space Marines you" villian.

I feel like Abaddon gets a bad rap for no reason. There's a reason why Abbadon failed 12 times. Its because there needs to be a continuity for Cadia for like 20-30 irl years and at large the Imperium of Man for Games Workshop. He's meant to work this way because of writing and GWs sales. No one wanted to write Cadia off until very recently. This also has to do with what fans generally play as: The Imperium. Because 1) Everyone wants to to play the race they relate to the most and 2) Chaos is a bitch to paint.

Because in fantasy, a new chaos champion would appear to lead the chaos incursions. They could of easily had different prevalent characters within the chaos faction to lead the different black crusades instead of only Abaddon. Plus, they could of at least had him do more in different parts of the imperium at least.

Maybe Omegon saw what was coming and assassinated Abbadon during the Heresy and then tricked Fabius Bile into cloning him and now that clone is leading the forces of Chaos. Because the best part would be that Bile knows about this the whole time but he can't say anything because the Chaos armies would collapse on themselves, get mopped up by the Imperium with no leadership and then Bile would be hunted down in short order. So Abbadon would be his greatest success and also his biggest failure and no one can ever know.

Drach'nyen is a daemon, daemons usually form a parasitic relation with some aspect, concept or idea. In the case of empire endings, no matter who caused the downfall, Drach'nyen is the one to claim all the power from the cascading event, much like how Khornate daemons gain power from bloodshed. Emps did not gain any power from ending or starting an empire, only material wealth.

If Drachy'nyen was born of the first murder and in the same chapter the Emperor witnessed the death of his father it is very likely that the Emperor was Abel's son. The shaman singularity plot still applies as it doesn't mean the Emperor needed to be spawned out of nothing, just that he was significant enough that his lineage, and his family history, became engrained in all abrahamic religions.

Never thought of it that way, but that would mean the Bible *WAS RIGHT* but would also be wrong because the prophecy says that the antichrist will fail and lose to Christ. I'm a Christian, but I have always taken WH40k's lore as any nonbeliever of creationist religions would in the setting, and feel that legitimizing the Bible in setting is problematic, as humanity is far younger than other sentient life forms in setting, also because it doesn't mesh with the emperor's creation, or the Warp and it's entities. If the Bible IS cannon in WH40k, where is Heaven? Obviously the Warp is arguably Hell, but the Warp isn't inherently malicious, it just became that way over millennia of negativity from sentient life. Where IS Jesus? God? I think whoever wrote this at GW is either massively ignorant of the previously established lore in-universe, or is trying to retcon it without realizing just how problematic it is. Abrahamic faiths are incompatible with WH, as are Zoroastrianism and Hinduism. You'd have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to make Buddhism work, but it's more possible than any other major religion currently. With the effective mortality of ancient Greek, Roman, and Norse pagan mythology, I could see those pantheons possibly mingling with the WH lore, but that's still going to take a lot of work. I wish GW hadn't taken this tack. The abrahamic creationist lore doesn't work with the Old Ones, the Necrontyr or Necrons, the Eldar, Orks, C'Tan, and many more that predate humanity by millions of years.

So why exactly Emperor needed to be stabbed? If he had power to lock Drach'nyen in sword prison then why didn't he do it instantly? If Drach'nyen powers are locked when he is in this form then why didn't Emperor simply took the sword and lock it with other dangerous things inside vaults in his palace instead of stabbing custodes with it and yelling "Run Forrest, Run!"? He could order it to be guarded by bunch of sisters of silence and custodes. For Emperor to not do that it means that Drach'nyen still have to have power to influence others and possess things. So how exactly someone like Abaddon is able to use it? Why didn't Drach'nyen possess someone and then stab Abaddon from the back while he is occupied in fight for example? Why didn't he possess Abaddon and then release himself?

I think the lore is kind of weak. That this demon was born when the first human committed murder has multiple problems. Humans weren't the first sentient life in the galaxy by a large margin, and I have a hard time accepting that none of the races that are millions of years older ever committed murder out of hate. The necrontyr and the eldar are the lowest hanging fruits to pick for this argument. Also, you'd think that murder would be more Khorne related than an empire ending focused warp entity. Also, how do the 30+ millenia of empires rising and falling BEFORE the Great Crusade not count? Between the (completely unrelated to anything regarding empires) murder of Able and the Great Crusade even up to OUR point in existence you have everything from the Babylonians, Alexander the Great, Rome, the Khans, Napoleon, almost every major European country has had an empire at some point, the 3rd Reich, the Soviet Union, the United States, and everything else between now and the rest of humanity's future up to the Great Crusade, including the Dark Age of Technology, which I assume has to have had some imperial moments. Seems like GW got lazy with the lore here

That is to say that humanity has a huge impression in the warp, that can be a reason that humanity can make the emperor a literal god because of this... you could say that the emperor wanted to destroy religion because he had a fear that humanity would create a god because of the coletive power to influence the warp. Theory: Drach is not a name, it’s a title. Beyond greater daemons, daemons with this title represent key moments in human history. While Drach”Nyen is the most powerful, as it is directly linked to killing, there are others with the same “Echo of the the first [blank]” name. Imagine “Echo of the first scheme”, “Echo of the first embrace” or “Echo of the first despair” being Drach’nyen’s siblings.

Imagine a Chaos Space Marine chapter backed up by psykers, heretics and cultists. Getting very pissed off at Abbadon for his extreme incompetence. So much so that they in fact overthrow him, take his sword from him and release Drach'nyen. At which point everyone decides to unite and follow Drach'nyen while forsaking the other four chaos gods.

I’ve always assumed that Drach’Nyen was able to wound The Emperor because of what they both represented. The Emperor representing the future of humanity through enlightened science and atheism vs. the repressive primal origins of humanity. It’s not so much that he is as powerful or more powerful than the Emperor. Worth mentioning that the Emperor’s origins in the book have him first use his power to punish his uncle for the murder of his father, instilling law and order for the first time in humanities history. Whereas Drach’Nyen’s origins are the parallel opposite, a brother killing a brother.

This is just my head cannon, but when the Big E put Drach'nyen into Rah, the Custodian asked, "Why?" As if the Emperor had betrayed him. Drach'nyen used this to eventually get controlled and "win" in possessing Rah. The counter arguement Drach'nyen said something along the lines "the stars would be extinguished before I could even gain full possession of a Custodian"

By remembering The Emperor's last order to him, Endymion woke up from his poisonous thoughts which were clearly not his and focused to his steps. One step after another. Always forward. Never slowing down, never staggering. The bases of his auramite armor's boots were long gone because of the century long friction. Yet the custodian continued.
