The girl named Malon--his wife--also helped 'cuz she was there. She was there as his safe place. She learned Epona's Song from her mom, an' then she sang it. Mama passed it on ta Malon, so she could pass it on to their son (Twilight Princess Link) if she lived long enough, or let HIM pass it on. Maybe that's why he could play it so sweetly in the way that Ilia couldn't. Zelda was the best friend who became the next queen of Hyrule, Malon was the friend who was a kid with humble beginnin's like the boy raised in the forest. He was a boy who was born to the commoners who served the Royal Family as guardians (so his common rank wouldn't get in the way o' their bond). He didn't belong in nobility OR royalty, an' neither did BotW Link (Kass was sayin' "neither nobility nor royalty", so I know that he was a commoner). Both ended up bein' born to the commoners who served as Royal Guards in their eras (so maybe a suburban settin' fer BotW Link could fit 'cuz he was confirmed ta really be a commoner). The Link who was the Cap'n of the Princess's Guard was a common boy, not an aristocrat. He was a commoner who became a knight, not nobility (so he became a knight the hard way by destroyin' the Guardian with a simple pot lid when he reflected its beam back at it with a parry, which ended its rampage ta rescue those threatened by it). Link was the kinda guy who fell in love with Princess Zelda. She was also the kinda gal who fell in love with a commoner like him (makin' her the Uptown Girl 'cuz o' that affection fer the commoner), so the feelin's mutual. In the French version, Kass also says that they'll rule Hyrule together, with Link bein' the commoner who'll be her hubby and the first king consort in many years (with Kass's hint in the French version) if they survive the battle with Ganondorf (in the sequel). Or prince consort who's by her side when she rules as queen (but still her spouse).

You got me really good with it and probably many other ppl. We played this game while we were kids and you managed to let us see a side of Link the game did not show. Now I am a grown up man, a soldier and saw how cruel humans can be. I can partially understand how Link must have felt while fighting for others. To understand my words I decided to update this comment. Before the army my partner visited me and said: "I will see you later" After those words I found out that my girlfriend and two good friends died in an car accident. The words you used: "She meant a lot to you. How would she feel seeing you like that?" Broke me. Made me think about the past and the good things I had. The good things I have done... and the pain I have hidden for the sake of my family. I thank you for making me smile and making me shead tears not because I was sad but because of the good memories you have reawakened in me. About the game and about my life. You are truly an artist. As I got older I really started to connect with Link in this moment. Once I started getting into being a pilot and making friends with other pilots the inevitable happened with fatal accidents. Though flying is incredibly safe, accidents happen. I've lost many friends over the last decade since I made my first pilot friend and became one myself. My heart is full of memories of laughter and fun with those men and women. Their loss breaks my heart every time though as Sheik said I remind myself of this: "How would they feel seeing me unhappy like this?" They would rather I continue living my life to the fullest. To spread the joy and happiness that comes with the freedom of flight. One day we'll all be reunited but until then I also remember Saria's words: "Home is never far away when you have happy memories" Returning to the skies I return home in two ways, in one to the place we all felt at home and in the other way to the happy memories made in the skies with them. The silly radio calls, hand signals and just plain shenanigans that I'll never forget and will always make me smile. Thanks MajorLink

This really is the biggest missed opportunity of the Zelda games. The silent protagonist helps to project too but there is alot of missed potential for developing Link, even a customized one. @@INFERNO95 I mean if people are that stubborn, the Zelda team should just give players the option to choose a silent or voiced Link. I mean there are plenty of choices still not given to us players yet: basic button mapping, gender selection (Pokemon has done this ages ago, what is taking LoZ so long), a voiceless option for every character (for purists; not me), etc. It's actually kinda surprising how innovative BotW was to the Zelda series but how some basic functions haven't been thought of yet. They seem like a lot of unnecessary fluff for a Zelda game at first, but you only start to see that they are missing when you play other similar games.

@@j.d.4241 There is no Zelda anime. Excuuuuse me! We need female Link, screw your closeminded opinion based on strange priorities about an internet occurence that happens anyway with ANYTHING to the point that the rule named for it, is an entire website. Like, wow. Let's not let female Zelda players (of which there is countless) project with a female version of Link, like they've had with Shepard, Pokemon Trainers, and Fire Emblem protags. Let's NOT allow for refreshing experiences. After all, the fact that Link is a boy has always been plot relevant, right? No, of course not. Zelda games have never even had romances w/ Link, and if you think that it mattered that he was a guy just because female characters hit on him, then that just says more about you. Zelda is such a malleable series (where canon hardly matters anymore) and Link is very representative of that. If he's gonna keep being mute, he might as well have basic customization ala Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Options in an RPG make them funner, every time.

Your gift of cinematography is appreciated. I love how Link sees the spot where Saria sat and remembers their last meeting seven years ago when Link learned her song. It's also a bit tragic because, from Link's perspective, he saw Saria a little while ago before being put to sleep for seven years. I love how you portrayed Sheik as a warrior similar to the artwork of the game rather than a character who pops in and out of the scene. Sheik testing Link by attacking him is a good way to train Link now that he is an adult. Despite her harshness, Sheik still offers Link some council. From the way Link smiles, he got back the determination to fight. The animation for Link and Sheik playing their instruments was great. I never saw Link use his fingers in the ocarina until now. I look forward to all of the Sheik encounters.

This part of the game was always super memorable to me and you just made it a million times better. Your Zelda animations are by far the best and Nintendo needs to hire you lol. Everything was perfect, Shiek's dialogue, Link's facial expressions and body language, and the bits with Young Link were fantastic! Keep it up MajorLink, we love you!

Another great masterpiece, Major Link! Link really missed Saria, and Sheik knew how he felt. Link's flashbacks of him and Saria playing together were super cute, and the scene where Link and Sheik played the Minuet of the Forest was just gorgeous! Keep up the good work! 👸💗💟🌹💐🌸🎀🐱🦄🍰

This is such a beautiful reimagining of that scene. I'm late to the zelda fandom and haven't played oot myself but i've seen the OG scene this came from and wow... this short fills in so many holes - very cinematic. i adore it so much, thank you

These animations give these characters so much more life/dimension. The original games gave the same subtext, but with this style of animation, the facial expressions, and the way that they move, it really gives it just so much more emotion. As a newfound fan of these videos, I will keep wishing for their continued success.

I'd like to think Link was stuck behind the Door of Time when he returned to his child self at the end of the game. He pulls out Saria's ocarina and finds that playing Minuet of Forest teleported him to her favourite tree stump. She was still a sage after all. Link told her about everything that had happened and they parted ways again for Link to speak with Darunia, King Zora and Zelda about Ganondorf before he ever arrives, but not before playing music together long into the night. Losing your best friend is indeed like looking at a tree stump; you can see the rings of their life up until the point it was cruelly cut away, but as Shiek reminded Link, their spirit will always be within you.

I think it is something like waking up... something we all experience eventually... It all depends if we let it touch our emotions. I returned to a place of my childhood in a city I no longer live in. This video has a lot of that emotion. You remember things and it brings you back.

This is an emotional video for me. The day I saw it my friend told me that he and a girl who I have loved for 3 years, are now a couple. That day I felt like Link, trying to move forward with my life, to let go someone I cared about. Luck was by myside, and I found out that it was just a cruel April fools joke. Me and her are now together for 4 months. But I will never forget that feeling, and how much influence this video had on me. Thank you, MajorLink!

A song is a memory that plays in your head constantly, and when you listen closely, everything comes flooding back. I remember when I played OOT on my 3ds for the first time. I played the original, and the good memories and soundtrack made me feel nostalgic. OOT was a masterpiece... Truly a split in the multiverse, and a Link to the past...

I would love to see this in a movie, like all the scenes you made and more wrapped up in one video. That would be amazing. Even the weird scenes; like the owl babbling, or coming across an enemy, opening the mini-boss weapon chest, any fighting scene, you die and fairy brings you back to life. All the struggles we all go through and relate on. For example, trying to jump on a ledge three times (or more) in a row and falling all of those times (usually off of high places for me cause that's where my clumsiness really starts to kick in). Whether it's a movie or just a few clips here and there, I'd be happy either way. So _thank you_ for making these videos.

This is absolutely amazing and heart-wrenching to watch. Saria was always one of the characters I looked forward to seeing the most in that game and when I returned to the forest to awaken the Sage I remembered feeling so many emotions on the run up to that special spot. Love the animation and how expressive Link is. Now I’m going to take some time to watch more of your works.

Wow. Just wow. Amazing, I never thought that someone could make such an amazing animation. I'm sure that a large portion of people who grew up playing zelda felt this in their heart's as we are all grown now, however if you did not play the game as a child it still conveys a message. I loved it, made me cry and think about my past as well.

Think how hard it is for this Link. He had to leave everything he knew behind to save the entire world, entering the world at such a young age is already really difficult, but he literally and metaphorically had to grow up very fast.
