In 1975, when the Sahara was a spanish province, the green march invaded the entire territory in weeks. To that action, Franco famously said "send the entire army and declare war on Morocco!". He died a few weeks after and the government decided not to follow his order, effectively letting Morocco dominate Western Sáhara til today

@alejoalfonso14594 жыл бұрын
@@vatanak8146 The Green March is a weird thing to expose since it happened expontaniously, but in short it was a group of Moroccans, around 100k of them, who entered the province by foot and started to settle the cities. F-4’s were never really used in the conflict, however the Moroccans Possessed F-5’s, Mirage F1’s and for a small time OV-10’s but they didn’t like them as they had issues in the rough desert. Some french troops were sent who were also in the Sahara conflict. But the main Belligerents were the Moroccan military and POLISARIO. Had Franco Maintained control, the tensions, and embarrassment Spain faced would have never occurred and the Sahara would of been far more stable and safer today.

The Wikipedia page is full of propaganda and revisionist history. 90% of it is from spanish sources. Here's what really happened: Morocco supported the Algerian war of independence in exchange of two border cities of Bachar and Tindouf that were under French administration -> Algeria didn't fufill the agreement -> Morocco invaded and captured tindouf from Algeria after they got their independence and didn't annex it because of outside pressure, mostly from the soviets and Cuba -> Algeria got salty about it and formed a separatist group after Spain and Mauritania pulled out of the Sahara -> Morocco fought a war against the Polisario and captured 2/3 of the territory.

@jarlboof2 жыл бұрын
@@d.h.2509 i like how you called the stuff on wikipedia propaganda and then told the entire story from a very biased pro-moroccan perspective. First of all, while Morocco did support algeria in the war of independence, the support was very minimal, nothing compared to the tunisian and egyptian support for example, not to forget that the also had a hand in the high jacking of the plane with the most important leader at the time. So they probably did more harm then help. And there was no promise to "give back" tindouf and bechar. Second of all, Morocco didnt capture tindouf, they did advance into the country but got pushed back by the algerians. Which was a newly independent country, they got support from cuba, but thats it. Morocco couldnt even take tindouf, not because of outside pressure (soviets and cuba really?) But because they lost the war.
@d.h.25092 жыл бұрын
@@jarlboof I don't think or care too much about Algeria to fabricate facts about them. If you do a simple research about their past president/s you'll find that the majority of them were Moroccan. I said it's propaganda, because it was from Spanish sources written in a time when we were in conflict with Spain. You can find plenty of sources that contradict them. Egypt doesn't have a border with Algeria, and Tunisia wasn't in a position to help anyone. Secondly, we not only captured Tindouf but advanced deep inside the Algerian desert. The war stopped after a truce was negotiated by the soviets or eastern block and the United States. To remind you, Tindouf was captured by France and integrated into Algeria, and that's the reason the war started in the first place.

Great video as always. It would be good If you do a video on kargil conflict 1999 from an Indian perspective. You will find combat footages easily. Btw it was the war fought on the highest battlefield of the earth in which india recaptured kargil.

@santiagozeballos13634 жыл бұрын
GI Joe Productions Maoist guerrillas that operate in the jungles and andes of Peru to this day. The name comes from a peruvian writer José Carlos Mariategui that once said “Marxism-Leninism will open the shining path to revolution”.
