we were also testing out white phosphorous, which was just dropped on civilian villages. would burn a hole right into the flesh and if the oxygen supply was not snuffed out, would continue burning in the skin for days. there was nothing that wasn't haunting about vietnam, it was a testing ground for the most brutal weapons ever devised.

Real tragedy is that it all could’ve been avoided if the US had actually listened to the Vietnamese back in the 20’s. Ho chi-min was a big fan of the US style democracy and wanted to model an independent Vietnam in its image. He went to the negotiations at Versailles to ask the US to support its independence from the French, the US said no, and he got disillusioned and turned to communism instead.

Majorsam your choice of music to set the mood is awesome. The scenes are deliberately ordered to syncronize with the music flow. The ending though, was superb. I thought we were hitting the climax then the music stopped abruptly and screen turns black. That was an ultimate punchline lol. I thought it was going to be the usual fade to black, really caught me by surprise. On the side note, the mood feels similar to Koyanisqatsi, an underrated masterpiece

The footage from vietnam is hands down some of the most disturbing footage to ever exist. Watching the shockwave come out of the bombs is almost vomit inducing, the death that they are capable of causing. Seeing villages burning, people lived in those places.

something curious and iconic of the Vietnam War, are those recordings where an explosion raises a large white dome, this happened with great frequency since Vietnam is an extremely humid country and well that white dome is basically the condensation of that humidity and water in fractions of a second by the energy released by the shock wave, and people often confuse this with the shock wave or shock wave, but not the shock wave is ahead of the small white cloud. May you consider a video with the song Runaround- by Jan Hammer- he was the music writer for Miami Vice and think it would be very fitting. One thing that crosses my mind when I watch your videos and see someone’s face. I think what if that was me, my friends, family member. Etc. There was no music, it wasn’t done within three minutes. The non decade appropriate music made the video feel more about reflecting on the past rather than trying to see 'what it was really like back then'. Which (imo) is what a lot of these types of videos try to do. This was different, and I enjoyed it. :)
