That doesn't scratch the surface of pokemon creepy facts: frosslass a woman that died on freezing mountains, goes out of it's way to find and kill man by freezing them and using them as decoration on it's den, Drampa are dragons that like children and they have burned down entire towns because their favorite child suffered some kind of bullying, cacturne stalks trainers in the desert and wait until they can't move anymore to feast upon their corpses and there's so much more stories of humans becoming pokemons and humans being able to marry pokemons. As always I recommend lockstin, pokemon always had that creepy tone ever since gen 1.

I believe that Frosslass is actually based on another Japanese Yokai, called the Yuki-onna. A malicious mountain spirit that takes the form of a beautiful woman. And then proceeds to kill men who visit the mountain she inhabits, with her freezing breath.

Most folclore in pokemon is based on that type of scary story like ghost types and stuff they just change a little to make it different frosslass doesn't just kill man in the mountain she goes down the mountain and knock on people doors to kill them to use as statue decorations. I wish we had a pokemon based on Gashadokuro.

There is a tumbleweed Pokémon, that has a soul of a dead human that’s possessing said tumbleweed. There’s a Pokémon that has 106 evil spirits trapped inside an odd keystone. A old engine that was brought to life, because a Pokémon went inside its muffler and died in there. A school of fish that died, during its travel, and all of the spirits that perished amalgamates themselves into one survivor make it a Legion Fish Pokémon. A baby turtle Pokémon, who’s the last of its kind, got godlike powers from a meteorite that wiped-out its entire species, stayed in dormant sleep for centuries, only to find out it’s unknowingly opening holes in dimensions in order to find its family it keeps dreaming of finding again.

Ooooh~ sweet child~ Ghost pokemon like Palisand don't just eat people~... it literally captures them, keeps them from food or water, trapping them till they can no longer live in the Hell of starvation, and then dies as it's soul and body are left as nothing more than bones. No~ eating them would be simple and fast killing. ghost pokemon are too sadistic for such simple tasks.

Also, I'm gonna put my personal Pokemon on this list cause people overlook it or it literally never gets talked about but: Phantump and Trevenant. Let me explain: both are Grass/Ghost Pokemon with the former being a ghostly looking creature with a tree stump head while it's evolved form is that of a dead, walking on spider like tree root cyclops and if the evolution doesn't creep you out enough let's go over the Pokedex entries, shall we? Trevenant's Dex entry in X reads: "It can control trees at will. It will trap people who harm the forest, so they can never leave." Simple spooky stuff, right? Evil trees keeping intruders inside forever. Very basic... untill we look at its pre-evolution's dex entry, which in Pokemon Y it says: "According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest." So, to recap: a Phantump is a ghost of a child that died while being lost in the woods, unable to find a way out. Than, as that Phantump grew and later evolved, became the ruler of the very woods it originally died in. It now sees this as it's home and now protects it from any humans that dare chop down any trees, mainly by trapping them in a maze of Neverending trees. And thus, children, who have never heard of these tales, end up lost, seen as potential threats, and get lost in an endless forest, doomed to forever die and become a Phantump. and you know what's even more crazy? YOU ACTUALLY GET LOST IN A FOREST MAZE IN POKEMON X AND Y, RUNNING INTO HORDES OF TREVENANTS!!! Pokemon can be freaking terrifying when you look through a microscope.
