Electrician myself, those type transformers are most commonly found in lighting modules. He's worked out a deal where he buys scrap from electrical shops at a blanket price and seperates everything in order to sell it at "clean copper" prices. This is common practice; the company gets a few bucks and it's almost 100% profit for them with almost no time invested. This guy is not putting out false information, at 6:54, and at 45:30, he says he bought it. He's a businessman who's found a profitable niche and is making money, I respect his work ethic. One of the problems with transformers, is even if you find one that has produces the voltage you need and the needed amps, often the plug won't match what you need on your device. There would be less waste if the plugs could be standardized and if there was a way to adjust the amps and voltage on them more.

Great video, how about get yourself a lug crimping tool….buy some clamps and make sets of seriously heavy duty jumper leads for the earthmoving industry? Vary the length according to what the customer wants and keep the price competitive, I bet they would sell like hotcakes! The bane of my life running earthmoving machines over the years was finding jumper leads not only long enough but heavy enough to carry the voltage without frying or losing current due to length, machinery manufacturers put batteries in some of the hardest positions to access…sometimes it’s not possible to get close enough too a machine, I made a 6 meter long set out of welding cable that were ridiculously expensive but worked perfectly until a thieving dog stole them and all the tools of my service vehicle. Price a set and see if it’s worth it for you…… cheers from Australia 🍻

@Project Shop Florida I would like to suggest an insert with a flange in the larger diameter hole. Like a washer attacked to a tube the you slide in to reduce diameter and should you need the original diameter you remove the insert. In industrial melts they probably will burn up dust and small loose pieces than someone like BigstackD that will spend a day compressing everything to melt and not burn off. Think of aluminum cans, throw them in your bonfire and they turn to ash, you don't get pools of aluminum. All in all in all in all of these from electrical to recycled it's time is money and +100%×1 doesn't equal -200%×10 other times having the world's align perfectly to MAKE the profit available. I'm just happy someone's recycling while most toss cans, aluminum foil, batteries, etc. A gun toting, metal recycling/earth saving for climate cryers, noise respecting, knowledge to world sharing, keeping a dirty stripper working, and living the American Dream having man! Not lithium battle bots battery burning or shake and bake battery exploding, to my knowledge, so he has my vote.

I used to own a metal reclamation business and we would fill 40 yard trailers full of copper daily. We got all the metal for free, from 3 buildings that were over 10 acres each. We scrapped entire electrical substations. We pulled every copper wire and buss bar, and all data cable, from a 22 story building. We were given all the metal on all our jobs. We even had the local electrical union steal a full tractor trailer truckload of steal from us, then they called the building owner and told him what they had done. They said that they put the metal in the building and they get the metal out of the building. Unions are totally criminal.

Okay, so you cashed out with a grand selling scrap copper. Is that cash out every workday? Scrap metal recycling prices fluctuate don't they? Do you know by how much from week to week? Just a ballpark figure (+/- closest to dollar amount would be great but best estimate is fine).

That was for that day, I don't work every day but when I do that it the type of money I can make. Sometimes its more sometimes its less. I don't pay attention to what the prices do over time, I get a price that day, buy the scrap, process it as possible, then sell it as fast as possible so I know my profit will be in a certain range no matter what.
