Love the way you stitched (at the end of the video) about an inch apart. This eliminates the problem of a hole and bulky gathering. Most videos I have seen others do, leave those two problems. I made one! Thanks so much. I used a waffle stitch pattern. What pattern did you use? I think next time I’ll start with a couple rows of something to make a border on the bottom.

I used double crochet stitches and every 4th one was a front post double crochet, but in the other direction I used a back post double crochet, so the texture would always show on the same side of the rectangle. Hope that makes sense! You could also add a border at the end after you make it into the hat.
