Beautiful! But a (maybe) dumb question- if you put the blankets over the rungs, won't they cover up your lovely engraving? Or maybe I don't know how the blankets are supposed to go on.

Like it a lot my question is why not just use dowls instead of screws then plugs?
@daveparker8394 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same. I’m not a woodworker (yet) so I’m asking to learn. I assume it’s because you’d have to drive the dowels on so far that it makes it cumbersome?

I want to just suggest for you, maybe make a couple legs 3 or 4 inches long at a 22 1/2 degrees or a 30 inch degree angles to lean against the wall with two pocket screws on the edge side to be able to fasten the legs to the back of the ladder, this would allow The ladder to be able to lean against the wall and let the blankets hang down behind each other , or another option would be to make a couple of legs to be fasten at the bottom for a free standing ladder to be placed anywhere in the room, some thing you good offer your customers as the option

I just made my first today. I made it from 1x4 lumber standing on edge with a 10 degree bevel on either end and against the wall at the top. I put one shelf at top and dual 1" dowels staggered at 45 degrees on 4 separate intervals. Put together with screws & glue, I'll finish it in flat gray with an oil based poly for moisture protection (I made it a towel rack). At 72", it looks great, has about 1.5' of distance from the wall at the feet and a bit more than an inch between staggered dowels where the towels cross them and about 4" between where they hang. I don't have any place for engraving (and now think that's a pretty cool idea), but I do have a 1x4x24" usable shelf. The only "decoration" is a 1/4" roundover on the outside of the braces. I'll list it for $175. Wayfair has shorter dimensions and all horizontal flat panels at the same price. Even with all the added features, it only took me about 2 hours to make (not including finishing which I haven't done, yet). Not too shabby.

@@codacreator6162 I’m not sure I follow your design, but I’m interested to know: Were you able to sell it at this price? Where did you list it?

Im interested in that laser you use , any suggestions?
@LazyLabAcres5 жыл бұрын
It's pretty good. You can only engrave with it though, can't cut through really anything.

@@LazyLabAcres I have narrowed it down to a Camaster Stinger or ShopSabre 23 - I have a background in CNC machining with metal, and have experience running CNC laser and rotary engraver. I would like to use Fusion 360 to post my G-Code. Was considering the Axiom, but for a little more money I think I should get either of the above mentioned. Tough call, they are both nice machines.
