Hopefully you enjoy this video. Just a note, after editing the video I realized I attached the white wire to the switch. I was supposed to use the black wire. It was a quick change, but I forgot to film it. Always check your local codes when doing electrical work.

I'm a union electrician and I was actually going to suggest that you might rethink switching the white wire. LOL! Glad you caught that!

Oh wow that was gorgeous! The light on just made that walnut glow. Thanks for sharing.

I love that the walnut looks like fire inside the lamp!

Really nice, Billy. My only advice is that the black wire is normally switched and the white wire is connected straight through. It's a safety thing in case the plug is polarized. Take care. Bill

This is not only a cool lamp, but an important reminder of basic math. Math that I’ve forgotten over the decades.

Hey Billy, this is a nice project. The lamp looks amazing. It's at the edge of my woodworking skills, but I'm going to attempt it. I really like the way that it looks. It's unique appearance will add a cool look to any end table. Thanks for sharing this with us.

That figured walnut has this flame look when the bulb shines on it. Pretty awesome.

@@NewtonMakes it is so cool, almost thought you were going some post camera magic when I first saw you turn it on, had to rewind a bit and watch again to see, no, just some awesome wood grain.

Another awesome video. Loved seeing you do something out of your norm, great job man. You have an amazing eye for selecting the perfect pieces of wood for your projects, no clue how you can see all that figure in the grain on rough cut wood. Well done!

I've always wanted to make a lamp and I have several designs planned. Had to start somewhere. This walnut came from a tree I milled in Rochester. I could tell as I was chainsaw milling it how cool it was.
