Thank you for the ‘Lesson’. My favorite mug rug was the selvages. Great way to use something that many consider waste.

Thanks Sheri for the demo of using selvages…. If no one is keeping their selvages and using them in cute little projects you’re missing out you can make such cute things.. once you start using your selvages you will not stop it’s such a cute creative way of making new things … thanks again for that inspiration

Those turned out so nice! Great idea for so many applications. I recently got a few pieces of RSS fabric and I noticed the selvages right away plus it feels dreamy. Thanks for the inspiration Sheri 😊

Is the backing under the batting as you sew?❤

Great video! My sister-in-law gave a roll of adding machine tape a few years ago and I never did anything with it until last week I discovered in the drawer, so I dug out scraps and started putting them on. It was such a no-brainer, no-pressure thing to do, I'm turning mine into a table runner. Thanks for the videos on making them into mug rugs.

Thank you so much. I like to make a nine patch out of 3 1/2 inch squares. I then cut down the center in both directions, vertical and horizontal, resulting in quarters. I then add batting and backing. This yields a set of 4 coasters.

Sherri, thanks for the selvedge demo. I bought the Sew Yeah ones, can’t wait to play with them. What pinking shears do you like? I really need a decent pair.

I love these, I could see the Selvages if you had enough of them as a small wall hanging to show off the fabric brands.

Yes! And I have a video showing that. I made a wall hanging of a giant spool of thread made from selvages.

I learned a new tip with the use of your stiletto. I like the Janome. I have a very old Pfaff that has been a workhorse, but bobbin stitches looking horrid of late. I cannot figure it out. Machine is bouncing. I will take a look at Janomes. Thanks for your great instructional video!

Will the batting come apart when it is washed (without more quilting)?
@lessonslearnt5966 Жыл бұрын
Not on a project this small, but if you’re worried about it, just sew a “X” through it when you’re done.

Beautifully done! What model Janome are you using?
