Love the fact that you also show your mistakes, makes me feel less like an idiot when i make one on a project

If we watch a hundred videos and never see an issue or mistake then something seems off. It's important to show the mistakes because we're all human.

@@NewtonMakes it’s a breath of fresh air. Wood working has challenges that arise and I enjoy videos when the KZbinrs say they make a mistake and the ways they go about correcting it

A joy to watch your videos. Your workshop makes a great backdrop in the videos as well. Always inspiring and I admire your imagination to keep coming up with great designs. Well done. One Handed Maker - Australia

I’m definitely going to have to try that pattern. I’ve got a new kitchen in my future and I’m going to be making a couple of good sized boards for it.

This came out awesome! And I definitely picked up some tricks or ways of doing things while watching! And major props for realizing you were at a point where starting over was the better option to forging ahead with something that wasn't right and was going to make problems down the road. I definitely need to work on that myself

I loved the jig you had for holding the planks down during glue up, I think I might make something like that because I have had enough sanding them level and ending up with thinner boards
@NewtonMakes Жыл бұрын
Glue up can be a pain, especially when making a complicated pattern.

Loved your video so much I decided to take the challenge and build it. I really appreciate the detail of your videos, the step by step instructions and the inspiration. Definitely a technical build that had me scratching my head a few times, but well worth the effort. I learned a lot from this one - thank you!

That looks sweet billy really smart looking. Probably one the nicer end grain cutting boards ave seen for while. I must say prefer face grain boards mostly cause can run them through plainer but when a do do end grain prefer this style with the contrast not just one solid dark colour. Can I ask question. What tooth count blade do u run for table saw I'm having issues with burning and marking and need to change blade but need a general all round decent blade save changing all time what would u recommend?? 👍🏴
@NewtonMakes Жыл бұрын
I mainly use two blades. A 24 tooth ripping blade and a 50 tooth cross cut blade. I think both are linked in the video description. At least, I try to remember to link them. Sometimes I forget.

👍 Thanks for the video! What grit did you use on the drum sander to clean up the first glue up? In other words, what grit sand paper would be good for surfaces to be glued?
@NewtonMakes Жыл бұрын
I use 120 grit in my drum sander at all times.
@sleepyowl910 Жыл бұрын
@@NewtonMakes 👍 thanks for answering. Do you glue right after drum sanding or run it through the planer after sanding? I have never glued up drum sanded surfaces before and thought Titebond would need a smoother surfaces.

Newton I love your product and I will be making a few soom. I have developed an Excel file that automates the design for smaller or larger products including. Are you interested in a free copy for your followers? It needs to be used in conjunction with your paper plans.

Incomplete post. Should be "including an option to retain the square pattern or to make the pattern from rectangles instead of squares, to allow for saw cuts, thicknesser for accurate pattern alignment and to allow additional length of the raw material and avoid snipes from the thicknesser!
