Great work. And refreshing to listen to you explaining everything and not selling us any festools or jigs.

Thank you! And yes I doesn't all need to be about selling stuff. Although I understand why channels do this. It's what they pay their bills with and keeping their content free for you to watch. Some even mark the length of the add so you can skip if you want. But people like @Bourbonmoth make the ad just so funny you don't want to skip and that's how videos should be done! It's funny what you say about the jig because this week I added a link in the description to download Sketchup files for the chamfer jig and table! But 10k viewers have passed before I thought about it. :) Hope you like the other videos as well and might follow my woodworking journey! Thanks again!

@@ygonmade Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate that you took the time to respond. I agree with you that people should not do this for free and they have a family to feed, etc. I do respect that. And I really believe that they should sell anything they make, their plans, jigs, products. I'm happy you shared your plans and I'm hope people will buy them to use it. I do use a pen and paper and have not yet decided about Sketchup but if one day I do use the program, I would certainly go and check your plans. My issue is not that. A good number of KZbinr get products for free from manufacturers, they even get wood, etc. and in a very inconspicuous way start selling those jigs and products. There are some of the wood workers who only make videos to talk about these products. I avoid them now. It is paid advertisement. We had here the Advertisement channel and it was exactly this but with household products. My point is that a good number of youtubers have become voice of the manufacturers. I was talking to one of the high ranking executives from a major manufacturer, and he told me how much these manufacturer save money thanks to these influencers. They send them free tools, 10% on any sale from the links (and that is much less than what they give to big stores) and they don't need to invest in advertisements. We don't see any adds from Dewalt, Bosch, Milwaukee, etc. anymore. The worse part is that the KZbinr is not even reliable for false advertisement. Oh, when the KZbinr says: "they sent me the tool for free and no links attached". First of all, fiscally, there is a link attached. When you give some one an expensive tool, even as a promotional item, in USA and Canada and most of Europe, it is taxable, meaning it is an income. In Canada for instance, the item is considered a taxable benefit (if you received more than 500$ of promotional item per year). Again, I believe they have the right to do it as you just said. But they should do it with transparency. They could tell people I recieved this item, signed a paper and this is a paid advertisement. There would be no complain from me at that moment. Sorry for the rant. My main point is that I admire people like you who teach others, and I would buy easily from you.

The chamfer & round over look great together. I was worried that big of a chamfer would make the table ends look too small. but I don't think so. Will likely do something similar for my upcoming table.

Hi you did an awesome job with that table. I'm planning something similar, only with a Danish oval form. I'm interested in the router jig. Would that work if the table isn't round.
@ygonmade
@ygonmade 7 ай бұрын
Normally it should! Because mine was based on a jig used by youtube.com/@foureyes.furniture on a table with more straight edges. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZfNiGqHerFoeZYsi=igYJwggE3UnWjp35 Good luck with the build!

Kan je soms wat meer uitleg geven over de mal die je gebruikt hebt voor die facetrand? Zou dit ook werken voor een ovale tafel?
@ygonmade

Ik zou hier zeker wat meer uitleg over kunnen geven in een video. Goed idee! En deze zou perfect werken op een ovale tafel.

Why would there be weakness after gluing? I wouldn't want to have to rely additional bracing/C Channels.
@ygonmade
@ygonmade 3 ай бұрын
I still don't understand why there was a bit of flex after I glued the boards together. Back at that time I've put some newspaper sheets on my workbench when glueing and maybe there got a little bit of newspaper in 1 of the glue lines. Just make sure to properply glue and no need to worry!

What finish did you use?
@ygonmade
@ygonmade 8 ай бұрын
It's an old leftover product but basically just a pigmented solvent based finish. Not the most healthy to work with but it spreads and dries fast.
@ygonmade
@ygonmade 8 ай бұрын
Oh sorry! Thought this was a comment on another video. Oops! The finish used here is Rubio Monocoat Smoke 5%. Check the link in discription. Rubio is an eco friendly oil based product. My go to for anything these days.
