❤️Easy T Shirt Dress to make for "Dress A Girl Around The World". Make this T-shirt dress to make a difference in a young girls life!!!
Specifics of dress I made in today's video:
*Size 5T shirt (Walmart)
*Pocket piece cut from shirt- 13"x 6.25" before folding
*Grey knit Fabric before folded- 62" selvedge to selvedge x whatever length you want.
*2 pieces of skirt length cut to approximately 13" in length from waist to hem
*2 side ties each- 1.50" wide x 16.50 long
*2 small pocket ties- .75" wide x 6.50" in length
**Overall finished length: from back neck to raw hem 22.50" Waist: 13" across laying flat
*NOTE-be sure to backstitch on all seams....make this dress to "last"❤️

* No "see through" fabric

Can you demonstrate the other dress also? Maybe the pillowcase dress? Something without elastic. I would love to make some dresses but am allergic to elastic, so I can’t work with it. I love all your tutorials, but don’t have any little girls tshirts to work with.

What a sweet little model you have, Tracy!!! And she's growing like a weed!!! WOW! 🥰 Spent the last few days printing out patterns, taping the pages together and printing the instructions that go with each pattern. My goal is to make at least 5 dresses in various sizes, but hope I can get more than that done by the end of September, to get them in the mail to Mari on time. Next, will be going through my fabric stash to find some fabric that will appeal to tweens and little girl-lets. 😉 Wish me luck!!! This will be the perfect project for binge watching recorded programs, bible studies, audio books, etc. 🙂

@@TheSewingChannel Just went through some of my fabric stash (I could supply a small fabric store!) and found some beautiful quilting cotton fabric for girls dresses. Even found a whole bolt of some beautiful floral print fabric I bought many months ago on WalMart's website that was listed at $3/yard! Couldn't pass up that amazing find! The bolt has at least 10 yards on it and will make for some beautiful 'tween dresses. This charity project is the perfect way to use it! 🥰 Also found a lot of bright, neon print fabric with hearts, stars, polka dots, etc. and coordinating color fabric for pockets and bias tape (for arm holes, neck lines, etc.) Just ordered 50 PDAG labels which will last me for a few years' worth of dress making. 😃 I'd best get to work!

I am new to sewing. The only stretch knit I have done is a pair of kid leggings. I noticed you did a zig zag stitch. Is that best for knits? Anything else I should know about the presser foot or the stitch settings?

Stretchy fabric is a bit fussy...you may want to practice your stitch on a piece of extra fabric that you will be using.✅

Don't 4get that the $store has nice t shirts mostly kids sizes,but if you are lucky they have adult sizes up to 2x as well 😉

Tina...great question! Yes I make the bobbin up with the stretch thread eloflex from Coats. As far as the serger thread goes....I buy the serger cones at Joan Fabrics✅
