Really would like to see the finished product. I'm looking to do this around a fireplace but I want to create a sandstone appearance so I'd be curious as to what's the best approach to stain a very light shade. I'll probably have to go with white cement, then brown it a bit.

linseed oil is also used and should be cheaper

Where did you buy or how did you come about acquiring your rubber molds?

A local concrete accessory supplier call Hardrock Developments. I have seen people make their own molds with kits and they turn out good as well. I’ve also used plastic wrap over a surface to cast before.
