Thank you for watching! I really appreciate it. I have total understanding that the price is hard to justify if editing is something you don’t make money from. There are alternatives though. In the new DaVinci resolve they have like a version of this for free. It’s not as good or realistic but it’ll take you 75% there I would say. It’s just lacking the realism that Dehancer gives you. Have fun editing 😊

I like the way yo present, strait forward and honest. Can I add just a little history about Push- Pull. If your film stock was 100 ISO but you wanted to rate it 200 ISO you would ask the lab to push it one stop. They would then leave your film in the developer for an extended length of time to compensate for the fact that you had in effect under exposed by one stop. On the other hand if you rated your film at 50 ISO you would instruct the lab to pull ( pull your film prematurely out of the developer) your film by one stop. Pushing and pulling did other things to your film other than allow you to under or over expose. It would alter contrast and cause the different colour sensitive layers to either converge or diverge. depending on the film stock. This would alter the resulting colours, usually in the hi-lights and shadows. This would not necessarily be the end of it. The print could be pushed or pulled. We don’t know how lucky we are, to be able to experiment as we do. If we make a mistake in grading, or the edit we can start again.

Hi, I have a question regarding my camera, Panasonic HC-V180. What setting do i have to choose in Dehancer? Source, Camera, Vendor, Format? I cant find information on the internet about it.
@HeartflashProductions Жыл бұрын
Those camera profiles are for LOG formats. LOG is a very pale, greyish looking format that contains more information in the shadows/highlights. Im not an expert but I believe your camera doesn’t film in LOG. So in your case I would simply choose rec709 as the profile. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and good luck 😊

@@brentschmogbert I can totally understand! But I think many filmmakers wouldn’t blink an eye at spending 1000 bucks on a lens or some other hardware. And while this is on the other end of the process I think it can influence the final outcome just as much if not more as hardware would.

@@HeartflashProductions I gladly pay for equipment I need. I have over 15k in hardware (just a regular dude not a Pro). I do color grading myself. Honestly I don’t know who the target audience is for this. I saw u can pay for a weekly use in the iOS app…maybe there people will spend some dollars. But this can’t be for normal consumer (too expensive) neither for professional (doesn’t need to use finished color grades). There’s plenty of awesome free LUTs and the davinci stock ones rock as well. What did the company give you in exchange for this advertisement (paid promotion ) if I may ask?
@HeartflashProductions Жыл бұрын
@brentschmogbert I see your point. I’m also a regular dude! I think this is aimed at the upper prosumers to pros. If you look at Dehancer’s IG account you will see that there’s a lot of high level pros using it. This is far from a LUT or a finished look. It’s not a set and forget tool. It’s for fine tuning a look from the ground up, with total control of every aspect. I didn’t get cash to do this, I got a license of the plugin. And I had no restrictions on what to say about it. I agree that it is a lot of money for something you can’t touch but I really believe that it’s a special tool to have in your arsenal. But hey, I love physical gear as much as the next guy! ✌🏼

@@cezar_visual_artist I see your point man. I have tried both on the same material, I’m working on a video comparing pros and cons etc and for me they are very different tools. If you want something quick and easy with ok results, go with look creator. If you want full control of the outcome with great results, go Dehancer. Now that’s where the price comes in. I think for people with a limited budget, it’s a nobrainer. If your film work is making money then Dehancer might be the way to go. I like both for different purposes!
