Make It Happen - Scimitar 1010 - We've bought a boat! Let the revamp begin! Episode 1

Hey Guys! Long time! Well, after 12mths boatless and only being on the water once last year, we've finally bought our dream boat! She's a 2003 Scimitar 1010 power catamaran! She needs some love, but we're up for the challenge and keen top make her our own and hit the ocean again for bigger & better adventures!

That's awesome, been looking forward to you guys uploading an update and certainly not disappointed with your choice. When you left us last time, I was thinking hmmm will it be a sailing boat. Once you've kitted it out how you guys want, you're going to have some epic adventures in that. At least with the flybridge, you've got a great spot for a few cold sundowners. Let the adventures begin.

Good choice guys I have chartered a Scimitar a couple of times up the Whitsundays they are awesome, you'll love the fly bridge when you are on the reef. Reading the reef is so much better from upstairs, looking forward to following the upgrades.

What a boat! Can't wait to see how you guys fit it out, and how she runs on the new engines. I would love to see more episodes on this! For that oven space, maybe even a 12/24 drawer fridge would go well, but upright is ideal.

OMG - you are back at last!!!congrats on the new boat ! An old colleague had one and although well appointed it was painfully under powered and to go from Birkdale to the Moreton wrecks was 2.5 hours and revving it arse off doing max 5 knots - Old mate had no idea and yours does 15 knots so that is awesome!! Cannot wait to see more of your adventures!! HNY and stay safe!

Welcome to the world of boat refit pain!. Well worth it. You’ll be surprised how much distance you can cover at 15kts, it’s waaay comfier too. You could consider putting your downstairs engine controls on the rear deck with a screen, no wheel is needed with twin screws. If your out the back fishing it makes sense, docking is easier too.

You want a big boat like that to plane at 15 knots? You'll need lots of helium filled balloons to do that
