on most things, you can just right click on a property and choose "copy to selected" to speed up things. like at 6:38 when un-checking "inherit rotations" for all the foot bones. there's also a copy attributes addon built-in blender that lets you copy modifiers, bone constraints etc from one object to all... I don't know if you didn't knew or intentionally didn't use both these ways to save time... but good tutorial nonetheless...

All arachnids have 8 legs. This would include of course spiders, scorpions, ticks, mites I think. I don't know if one would considered tentacles as legs, but the octopus has 8 of them. Squid have two extra tentacles called arms, giving them 10 tentacles in total

spider crabs have 8 legs, and by the way spiders dont have bones the have exoskeletons and their legs run off hydraulics. A valve at the entrance to each leg regulates different blood pressures for different movements. That is the main reason why they can move so quickly for their size.

Quick tip for rigging in blender. If you dont want to go around and name every bone .L in blender you just select the needed bones, press ctrl + f2, set it as set name and choose bones from the list and type .L, that will make all the bones you selected to have .L at the end of their name. Hope this helps!

this is great, i really like the raycast method to move an instance over a terrain, ive been using the method of drawing a nurbs path to a surface and then using a following path constraint and along with a shrinkwrap constraint with follow normals set but this seems a little glitchy and fiddly, could you show how to use the method shown but just for a singular instance that follows a drawn path rather than using transform and multiple instance...

Very interesting and nicely done. I don't know anything about blender, animating, sculpting and all that stuff but the more I watch these videos the more I wanna start making stuff. Someday maybe.... I'm fine with producing music for now :P

Thanks! I do both and it’s all fun. Mixing... not so much lol.

@@KevBinge Yeah mixing is a pain in the ass lol. I know I would enjoy blendering stuff myself but I would need a much better graphics card :P If I'm ever gonna start doing some visual stuff I'm gonna watch your videos even more :)

Dude omg I so need to do this in blender. I made a spider in maya bit robotic and then a wolf one in blender and using the same knowledge another of a blue gooty spider.

@@KevBinge this is kicking me in the face so hard. at bam spiders I did not reduce denisity and actually had it up higher my gtx 1070 hit 63 celuis I had millions of spiders showing was scary. Playing with the settings I crashed blender to the point the gpu cooled back down to 30 something. and so I had to start back at bam spiders lol. I followed all the way to shrink wrapping the terrain to the baby spiders which are all flat. None are traveling or even on the ground. I got 2 mins left of this and its really bugging me lol

Watching the tut a second time, it looks like the instanced spiders are sliding on the ground or something. Are these instanced spiders animated and all?
@KevBinge
@KevBinge 2 жыл бұрын
If you go frame by frame they are but it needs another pass. They need to be way more pronounced, and varied.
