@@skeeterbuildsit6016 I always thought a gas powered chainsaw had an engine rotation factor of around 9,000 to 13,000 RPM, Take the spindle and sprocket size to convert the chains FPS ( feet per second ) to get the chain speed. I was looking at the woods pitch pockets at the section of the chains chatter marks ( rough area ).
@Wassenhoven4204 жыл бұрын
@@skeeterbuildsit6016 are electric chainsaws as consistent tho? Potentially faster, but what about when hitting knots, do they loose more torque for a few seconds or something? Wonder how a cold battery could affect all this as well.

Concerning the milling with an electric chainsaw, when you get to the edge of the timber you maybe you could screw some shelf braces to the side of the timber you are milling so you don't have to end on a 4x4. Just another option. Thanks for sharing and demonstrating this chainsaw mill.

It’s awesome to see how far these electric saws have come! I’ve switched to a dewalt weed trimmer so when I’m away for months for work my wife doesn’t have to worry about mixing gas.
@sandgrownun662 жыл бұрын
Why would your wife not be able to mix gasoline and two-stroke oil?
@kivetts04dmax2 жыл бұрын
@@sandgrownun66 because they make little bottles for 5gal of gas and some for 2.5gal. If she ever had like 4gal of gas and just threw a 2.5 mix in and thought it would be okay. Just not worth ruining a saw/weedeater over it and it does what I need.
@sandgrownun662 жыл бұрын
@@kivetts04dmax Are women not capable of mixing making gasoline and oil in a certain ratio? They are pretty good at baking, and that takes measuring out different amounts of ingredients. For a 50:1 ratio, you simply add 2.6oz of two-stroke oil to each gallon gasoline. Buy a quart bottle of oil and it's good for 12 gallons. Surely, even the stupidest female could cope with that?

@@sandgrownun66 you’re right, I’m wrong..didn’t mean for this to turn into a big ordeal, I personally bought a battery operated weedeater so my wife could just put a battery in and go an not have to worry about anything else. Agreed! The compact size and no gas make it perfect to keep in the truck or suv toolbox just in case. it was only $120 without battery, but it does have the light duty bad design chain tensioner and has the same jumpy skipping cutting action as the saw in this video, like you have to nearly stall it out to make the chain bite into most any type of wood. Still love mine though, hope they make an improved version 2.0 soon!

@daftnord49575 жыл бұрын
exactly. use load will warm a battery up. recharging a lithium battery while under freezing temps will electroplate the anode or cathode, which reduces the surface area, which reduces battery capacity. big time factor for everyone who has power tools, and cells phones, laptops. so everyone lol

From what was shown, the blade was loose. On battery powered saws the chain should be tighter due to it having more torque than a gas powered saw. I figured that out quickly when the blades got dull quicker. Another thing I noticed was that it seems that you were pulling the saw instead of letting it pull itself.
