Hey! Click this link for more Money Making Knowledge www.youtube.co...
Welcome to Adi's Little Shedshop, in todays video I was asked to make some Heavy Planters for my mother-in-law and thought I would share with you how you can make money from them.
So I started with 3x2 CLS C16 untreated timber in 8ft lengths I needed approximately 6 lengths of them to make the 2 planters and I made them with feet as that was what was wanted so that took a little bit extra wood. These were made to help keep up an arch up in her garden to stop it being blown over, definitely not getting blown over now, that's for sure. Anyway these were glued and screwed and then poshed up by countersinking each screw to be covered by some hardwood dowel glued in place and I think the finish says it all. After I finished building them I did sand them and that took a good 3 - 4 hours and yes I lost my concentration and the sander really did get away from me, which I am happy I caught on camera because it was a lapse on my part, certainly woke me back up tho.
I think these can easily be finished in any way you could think of, personally I wanted to burn them so they would look quite cool Shou Sugi Banned but the mother-in-law wanted to paint them to protect them which was her choice, shame really.

Just side thought, wouldn't some longer skinny lag screws work a bit better to not use so many screws? Could get like maybe three to four layers per lag screw. Other than that, nice planters!

Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have to agree, lag screws would definitely have been better but I was doing it on a budget so I used what I had laying around, next time tho when Mrs Shedshop wants some made they'll definitely be getting some long lag screws for sure. Thankyou for watching

Lovely job mate 👍, bit over the top with the Mother-in-law lol. Old saying happy wife happy life, but this also includes Mother-in-law. Nice bit of timber, and that chop/slide saw is going great guns too. Nothing wrong with the positive stop mate 👍 it works as it's meant to, and an end stop is never a permanent fixture.

Nice one, needed a good idea for her pants (not the mother in law but the misses) but yeah, and what's wrong with Black? You should be more kind to your lovely Old 2nd Marr. 👍

Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm still chuckling while writing this, all I can see is the mother in law reading that comment and giving me soo much grief about how she likes to paint everything black in the garden and telling me that everyone else agrees because of your one message. I love that thankyou for cheering up my day and keep watching for more from Adi's Little Shedshop.

There are slight gaps between the base panel, I was asked to drill holes in the base but I didn't want to, and Mrs Shedshop agreed that there was plenty of drainage from the space between the base lengths. Thankyou
