New sunnier! You & I have a lot of the same stamps. The Corona typewriter set was the first set of stamps I got & now about a hundred more & that one is still my favorite. I also had to cut apart my “Flora” stamp. I did this on napkin “backs” & it turned out fabulous. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!! I have intended to start a channel for about 10 years now, but fear has held me back. I’m so glad I found you!!! The funniest thing is that we had a video production company for about 20 years & sold everything to move back to my hometown to care for my ailing grandmother & now we’re jumping in the deep end!!! On the eiful tower stamp, put 2 layers of scotch tape under it to raise it up a little. I found this trick on another web site, and it worked on mine that was an uneven serface. PS, love your collages. Barb from Anaheim, a stamper since 99.

ON the eiffel tower stamp...if you place some foam (fun foam) under your paper it will help you get a clear impression. love the idea of creating our own paper! Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering if anyone, but me, had a problem with the rubber stamps losing the "sticky adhesive" that adheres them to the acrylic block, and you mentioned your solution while I was wondering about it! Thanks for that piece of advice. Another great video! All of the beautiful crafty items can get very expensive....and I like to keep things simple.....this is a great idea! I love all of the digital things that are available, but do not have an updated computer or printer to get them (Sigh).....but still looking forward to seeing what you create! So glad the Lord gave you the push you needed to start your channel....I have a feeling you will be a blessing to all of your subscribers, in more ways then just your talent! Warm hugs.....

Hi Pam!! Ok, you brought tears to my eyes...in a good way. I only want to be a blessing, I never want this channel to just be about fluff, but that people would be warmed in their hearts by God's presence. So thank you Sister!🙏💕 I'm so glad that tip helped about the stamps! Water helps too, but I don't always want to wash them right away, so I tried the wipes one day, and yay, they worked!☺️ I understand about the printer/computer thing too! When I first started doing this, I was buying kits on Etsy and downloading it to my phone, taking it to a print shop, paying to have my digis printed out. My computer can handle saving them, however, with no printer there was no point. My husband ended up going on offer up and found me an epson printer for about $50. But I completely understand!! You can also buy tracing paper of different weights so if you get a lower gsm/lb weight, you can get an even more translucent effect in the background. Or use a good quality tissue paper & stamp directly on it. And if you use a few sheets of copy paper under what you’re stamping on, you’ll get a clear impression

Yes, most definitely!! Good idea!! Also, I realized after making the video, that just because the tissue paper didn't work in my printer, that doesn't mean you couldn't do the same thing with it by hand, and in different colors...🥰

Rice paper is awesome. It's pretty affordable on Amazon also. I have found to like it better than tissue paper. It's sturdier, but translucent like tissue paper. You can even put it through your printer with no problem.

@@TerrasTake I have been playing around with it and I LOVE IT! I also splurged on Liquitex Matte medium and it makes a HUGE difference with layering. But...the secret sauce is Debi's DIY liquid patina!! If you are interested check out Debi's DIY paint and mixing powders, Rocycled Treasures, or Iron Orchid Designs! I love their products!! Some amazing channels are the ones listed above and Ellen J goods is one of my favorites. She has branched out from furniture and thrift flipping into mixed media and it is so fun to watch all the different techniques. I just took a class by Lexi Grenzer on mixed media and watercolor and it was AWESOME! It seems alot of people are playing with different mixed media techniques these days. Alot of inspiration out their. I also recently started watching Shawn Petite and she uses rice paper and tissue paper. It's fun to see all the different creators/artists create stuff.

PS For the area in Eiffel Tower where the stamp didn't connect, you can always stamp a pretty French word across it, off-center. Hey Tara. I used tissue paper and stamped on it. It turned out beautifully. You just have to remember which side is the “right” side if you use numbers. I didn’t use my printer. I saw this on another person’s video. But this video was 6 months ago and I don’t remember when the other video was. Don’t think it was before yours.

Hi not sure if anyone said it earlier but I use two taped together thick kids craft foam to stamp on. It helps and I don’t have to worry about pressing so hard to make sure I have no blank places on my stamping

You CAN feed tissue paper through a printer, but you need to cut it down and tape to a sheet of a regular copier paper first! I Usually cut my tissue paper a bit smaller than a copier sheet and use paper tape like washi or masking tape (not cello tape) to avoid possible ink smearing.

Semi new to the channel--mostly new to leaving any comments. But I felt a need to thank you for the idea to do it myself. I have the $11.99 Tim Holtz paper but find it's not always suitable for the journal/project I'm working on. So this is a perfect solution. I enjoy using napkins/tissue/deli paper for backgrounds, so this give me permission to design the background for the journal's 'theme'. Brilliant! Thank you for your contributions to the JJ art/artists hanging around looking for something 'different' here and there. I feel like I've found some of those things here, on your little piece of KZbin. With regards, Mel

Love it. I do this as well on tissue paper from dollar tree. When you tear a piece and glue it down the edges disappear. It was difficult to see your process on my phone because of the placemat. I wonder if you used a solid color behind your tracing Paper if it would be easier to see it. Thank you for sharing your wonderful technique.

Solid white. Much easier to see. I also clean the ink, glue and acrylics off with hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.

Thanks for sharing great stuff using tracing paper got a pad of it haven't used yet... I had an idea also that my Mum gets these free advertising magazines full of local businesses through the post so when I see her on Thursday going to ask her to keep them back as with tea or coffee stains will make them look really old as I'm sure Tim design is a bit like newspapers vintage prints on one od his rolls plus using your stamps etc and yes I do have quite a few now 😉 😀

I'm glad you liked the tracing paper...I was thinking after the fact, that I should have also mentioned that you can stamp your designs onto the tissue paper, I had tried to use it in my printer and had such a fiasco, that it slipped my mind while doing the video, that just because it didn't work in the printer, doesn't meant it wouldn't work by hand...duh!! 🤣🤣🥰

When you ran tissue paper through your printer, did you run it through alone or did you tape it to a sheet of copier paper? If not, you can probably do it that way. I have seen tutorials similar to this on KZbin but no worries, it’s always a good idea and it’s one no one remembers. I’m envious of your access to a brick and mortar Blicks! They are a legendary art store that as you’ve seen, has its own house brand of essential art supplies! They’ve even managed to make a dup of Copic markers that are reportedly, like 98% as good. They even have refills and unlike Copic. They haven’t reduced the amount by almost half while keeping the price the same. The just don’t have as many Copics or at least they didn’t when I last saw a review of them. Another great art store is Jerry’s Artarama.

Yes I’m from Australia too and we pay a small fortune for craft supplies, even a Dollar Tree type store here is expensive. I envy people doing craft and dollar tree hauls, it makes me happy seeing supplies but sad knowing I’d pay triple the price or more for the exact same thing, ughh it sucks.

I love this. I have seen this before. But I love your design. Did you use your printer for your examples? You can't tell it looks store bought. I went to a free garage sale where I live and got 2 unopened packages of vintage tracing paper to play with. Thanks for the inspiration

@@TerrasTake The reason I asked is because I know when creating a printable you have to be concerned about copyright issues when using other people's images, etc. and since you were using stamps I wasn't sure if you would be able to use that as a printable. I am new to printables and would like to create some. So, could I use a bunch of different stamps, as you did in this video, and design a printable with them to sell? That would be wonderful if I can do that!!! I am not an artist so trying to draw is out of the question. I will be suPer excited if this is something I can start with. You know I'm pretty new to the whole copyright thing as well...I would want to research that a little, but I believe you're right, that they belong to someone else and unless you were to get permission to use them, it would be considered infringement...I got excited too until you said that about copyright...I'm going to look into it though. Hi Adrienne!! I do care, because who can afford all this stuff if we don't watch out for sales and good deals. And no, you can use any ink for this project, I believe you could even use the Distress oxide and distress ink as well. I was using archival link, because I like the oil based ink, I like how it holds up and it's not as expensive.You can get it at Hobby Lobby for 40% off every other week, so it's a good deal. You get a permanent ink at a good price. Thank you for that question!!💝
