Sharon Kurga, thank you watching the video, glad you like it. You can use liquid germal plus, or optiphen plus for creams, gels, body lotion and liquid soap. You do not need any preservative in bar soaps, and you only add preservative to body creams if there was a water phase involved. If you mix just butters and oils together without adding in any form of water whatsoever, all you need is vitamin e, which is an anti oxidant. It will help prevent the butters from rancidity. Geogard 221 (cosgard) preservative is Ecocert approved. Make sure it’s not in any products meant for children under 3, because the benzyl alcohol in this preservative can potentially be irritating to infants.

Yes you can use geogard ect for this recipe. The recommended dosage for a 100 gram formulation is 06 to 1 %. When using preservatives, I always take the highest recommended dosage, which in this case is 1%
