Roast at 350, 50 mins for anyone wondering. This pie was very good, I used his crust recipe too and I liked it but would half the salt next time. Delicious pie! 😊

Love homemade pumpkin pie. We grow ours as well. This fall we picked up a few white Boer pumpkins that someone got for Halloween and tossed to the curb. We picked them up. OMG the pumpkin pulp is so orange and delicious. Making my pies with the boer pumpkins this year. One pumpkin made 14 cups of puree. I like to make pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin muffins as well. Thanks for the recipe. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Great explanation and good videofootage! Also very well explained. As well the tips on using the seeds is great, I rarely see anyone using the punpkin so throughly like you did in your video!
@GrowingInTheCity4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m surprised how the seeds so often get overlooked. They must be labor intensive compared to other seeds to produce; but they certainly are easy to take out, rinse, and roast if your already opening up the pumpkin. 🎃

I've made pies from decoration Halloween varieties and except for them holding more water than sugar varieties, they make great pies. Drain the pumpkin in a colander after first bake or simmer in a saucepan to reduce the water before assembling the pie.

this is the first video that pops up when searching "pumpkin pie from scratch" that ACTUALLY uses whole pumpkins to make the puree. thank you. everyone else uses canned puree and calls it "from scratch" smh, might as well buy a precooked pie crust and call it from scratch too.

Cook your pumpkin inside facing up in the oven 425 for 1 hour to 1:30minutes depending on the size of the pumkin checking on it evey 15 minutes after the first 45 minutes of baking then there won't be any water and you can scoop it out with a spoon.

@freespiritwithnature4384Ай бұрын
You can just buy pumpkin pie spice.,or omit the cloves and add some extra nutmeg and ginger,depending on your taste. That’s what I’m going to do.
