Also - I am really good at getting the most out of a small amount of money on Facebook, I used to do really well with Ads. However Mark Zuckerberg caught onto us & also shadow banned us. So it rejects %75 of my ads and by the time I see that it's too late, So i am so over advertising there

the time is a juggling act, especially when you are selling lots of merch, and do everything yourself, even when you hire others to help, it still requires work. And sometimes babysitting them. I do not consider Spotify to have a Graveyeard, I see it as a BIG box of hidden treasures. Not all artists search for maximum impact. Not the money, but the slow "find and build" audience. Not all of us wants to go on a tour. Some of us just wants to create.

Having listened to bbc introducing for well over three years it seems there's a lack of artistic management. Tracks are too long, no dynamic range and yet there's unconditional enthusiasm from the presenters. If the music is utterly banal and the artist charisma free, then there's nothing to sell.

Fb ads cover Instagram too - so that’s another platform, you don’t have to use Facebook. Also you don’t need to be growing on Facebook to utilise Facebook ads - you mainly use this for data, as there isn’t a better online ads platform in the world.

Hey, Damian. I released a single on the 30th and a couple of days ago I made a sponsored post on IG to promote it. The post got 337 likes (in comparison to my usual 80-130) and reached 8003 people but there was 0 promotion clicks from the ad. I captioned it with a lyric from the song and linked the ad to the track on spotify, is there something I done wrong?

I really got to get in this so you can show me what to create for awareness ads, early last year, I put our track over some hockey highlights/hits, then did a lyric video re-targeting, then directed to spotify, re-targeting again. I'm having trouble following that up without completely copying it. Facebook ads work, I just need help putting them together.

Love your explanation. I think you’ve explained very well. As a music curator I have a constant stream of applications and timing has a lot to do with whether we select a track or not. As far as expectations the big problem with people is they want it yesterday and feel that their history and development should equal success now but they haven’t invested enough in the right kind of exposure to gain the Fanbase. And if they areOn social media the comments don’t get answered and the attention isn’t being given to the people who are showing up for them. So those people move on and the artist never grows past that initial month of Advertising before they disappear again

I love what you do, your frankness is quite refreshing and you have good advice. You cover the music industry at its core excellently, but I was wondering what your thoughts would be about underground websites like SoundCloud or BandCamp, and how underground/niche culture is different with the internet. Many of the biggest rappers among my peers(Lil Wayne, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott) have mastered the art of the underground release, and often have entire simultaneous underground careers with music distinctly different than their major label releases. I’d love to see a video about more underground music and how these guys make their money, and also how these avenues of promotion might change in the next 10 years. Keep doing your thing man!

I get that and I have pretty extreme burn out with youtube, Im bored of making videos, the problem is everytime i do something i class as interesting the videos bomb, when i do tried and tested they fly. This video 20k views in 15 hours with so many musicians thanking for helping... The people who want to get past headlines and KZbin's sensationalist attitude and lists which dont have huge detail need to go into DKMBA as that is where there is more in depth content. If I go that in depth on youtube is bombs and if Im honest its pretty soul destroying. KZbin isnt about subscribers anymore, its about click bait and playing algorithms.
