I am sharing a way that I found to make the sound from the BMPCC OG useable by using the tools available in the Davinci Resolve free version. Hope this will be useful to someone! Cheers!

This is golden! Out of all the countless BMPCC OG related videos out there, this one is definitely one of the most useful for my spontaneous run-n-gun type of shooting.

Thank you so much! I am glad that you found this useful! There is another video just showcasing the best that I could extract out of the camera without sounding too harsh: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5abdWCEbch-a5Y I think it really can sound okay... :)

Glad you found it helpful! I think this really diminishes the need to rig the camera out if you have enough batteries and want to shoot somewhat discretely. Because if you start adding microphpnes, then why not go the whole way and rig it out with a battery plate and a monitor? I like it compact! Cheers!

thats solid! for documenting everyday moments the audio is more than acceptable.

Thanks Steve! I think the same! The trick is playing with the EQ to get the frequencies heard. It really helps if the EQ has RTA functionality, as then you could actually see the spectrum following the changes. For me the Waves F6 works better than the EQ in Resolve, as you can be more specific with the work, and also there is a possibility of even steeper hi-slopes than in Fire mode of Resolve EQ. On top of that, it is also capable of M/S work, which helps control the sound more and is very nice for adding a little bit more depth. I also started to appreciate the iZotope RX De-click. Cleans up the audio very well actually, even with severe clipping. I went to the same pub this week and set the gain to 0. Of course -- there is still some clipping due to inherently loud environment, but the results are even better. I will probably post the video from this week, and then link this as a How-To. With all fairness -- I don't really understand why nobody else has tried it, having in mind the amount of negativity towards the on-board microphones... Anyways -- have a wonderful day! Cheers!

I should be able to post it in the few coming days. I hope that I can sort out my footage storing/categorising and handling soon and then can start working more a lot more efficiently... Working with RAW videos bring out new but expected challenges regarding storage and transfer speeds between the disk drives. I hope a new big SSD for WIP projects will work in tandem with the HDDs that I have for storage leaving the system SSD for OS and other things I need to work flawlessly. Trying to use colour panel in Resolve while streaming RAW from HDD sometimes is quite... Slow, haha?
