Hoping there will be a v3 to be compatible with the protective boot

You just saved me some money, i was about to go buy a couple till i read your comment. I run covers on all my ratchets, thanks for the save

Very cool, but looks like it won't work with a boot. Also, they should print on/off arrows on it.

Make a v3 that is boot compatible and I'll buy 4 immediately.

I have a new Milwaukee extended ratchet. Looks like this would be a good option for it.

When are you getting the new Milwaukee m12 stubby 550 torque for testing?
@kylefowler50824 ай бұрын
At the 1:51 mark you said these knobs are only for the FUEL ratchets however according to the website they say "The MW-2™ Magnetic One Finger Reversible Ratchet Knob™, made for Milwaukee high speed and brushed ratchets." I specifically have the 2457-20 and it lists the MW-2 knob as compatible with it. Anyways I ordered one with the link you provided. I'm always paranoid that I'm going to be careless and jam the ratchet up against something and be unable to switch the ratchet direction. Hopefully with this maybe I'll be able to switch the direction with the knob and avoid that nightmare lol. As always thank you for the videos!

Same here. Did you buy it? Dies it work in that scenario?
@kylefowler5082Ай бұрын
@@markEs8702 I did order it and it fits like a charm.
@markEs8702Ай бұрын
Ok. But say it backs itself in a corner can you still operate the switch?
@kylefowler5082Ай бұрын
@@markEs8702 you can push the knob with a screwdriver from the side to change direction and it doesn't pop off. I haven't straight up jammed my ratchet to see what happens however. I think if you really screw up and jam the ratchet you're in a heap of trouble either way as the entire head of the ratchet would be pinched in position. The knob would be handy in a situation where you realize you need to change direction and can't access the recessed direction lever but you haven't pinned the head of the ratchet yet.

Not tryin to hate jus curious why dewalt is the only 1, at least i know of, to put a normal ratchet lever style switch on their new cordless ratchets? Its like the design was their from normal hand ratchets. I dont get it
@rolandm97503 ай бұрын
Only the DCF500 and DCF510 "Sealed Head" ratchets have this design. All the other [DeWalt] ones are similar to this with a "turney knob" in the centre. The reason is the way the traditional power ratchets work--they swing the mechanism in the head back/forth to perform the ratcheting, so that's really the only place to put the switch on is there to change the ratcheting "output" direction. The DeWalt "sealed head" ratchets have a completely different design than most power ratchets, so this is how they accomplished that. Matco also makes one with a similar switch, which is actually rather huge (the switch I mean, not the ratchet). If you go look at the TTC video covering the Matco ratchet you'll see how the design is quite different than most power ratchets as they show the exploded view/animation.

@@rolandm9750 good to know. I guess there was a reason. The switch was a big reason I wanted to upgrade to the dewalt 12v ratchet from my 1st gen dewalt 12v ratchet. And the fact the head was more compact and it was 3/8 drive and 1/4 drive. I guess plus the 1/4 hex bit holder but I haven't even used that still but I got the option lol.
