If you have a masculine singular noun and a feminine plural noun sharing adjectives would you describe them with masculine plural adjectives? "Il tavolo e le sedie sono neri e bianchi." ? A set of a table and chairs in the store.

im not sure if we will learn this but how come we assume the gender of cats and not dogs in Italian. For example, cane being unsure but gatto (masculine) implying it is sure whats different between cats and dogs when it comes to language?

@Di-wk8cf Жыл бұрын
Hi Manu, thanks for your excellent explanation. However, can you please confirm if there is a typo in your chart for the word Bianco, should the Masculine Plural be BIANCHI ( based on your pronunciation), rather than banchi, as in your chart. Thank you.

Manu, I have a question. When you refer to dog=cane, does this refer to both a male dog and a female dog? In this lesson I became confused regarding this particular word. Cane ( singular) becomes Cani (plural). What if The dog is a female? How does this distinction happen?
@italymadeeasy
@italymadeeasy Жыл бұрын
Ciao, Brian! Thank you for your question. We have a word for female dog which would be "la cagna", however is rarely used as it became a slur against women. We'd rather simply say "questo cane è una femmina" (this dog is a female dog) or "è un cane femmina" (it's a female dog). A presto, ciao :)

I thought "panino/i" meant "bread roll/s"... is it more common to use panino or tramezzino?
@italymadeeasy
@italymadeeasy Жыл бұрын
great question! Panino and tramezzino are two different things in Italy 😆 panino is made with "regular" bread, while tramezzino is made with a specific soft white bread, with the crust removed 🤗
