Absolutely stunning build Gary! 👏👏👌 Love the luftwaffe what if genre and you've made a wonderful job of this one. The paint job is awesome, especially the cammo. Smashed it Gary! Love your little honesty clips too! 😂 Makes me laugh! Loving your work as always Gary and looking forward to livestream on Thursday. Take care mate. 👍👊

Certainly a Red Beard would fit into that bay - it went into a Buccaneer. Bit of cut and shut and I'm sure a Blue Steel would go in.

I got one of these kits some years ago but gave up on it as I couldn't figure out a good colour scheme for it. After seeing this, I have got another one to have a second go at.

Hi Gary, nice build. 1948 markings? The reason the RAF went to these later markings was that the war was over, they reverted to peace time practice. That does not devalue your choice though because you've depicted an aircraft taken over after hostilities have, at last, ended. I think this was a proposal for the "Amerika bomber" (their spelling I think). Ambitious given the life epectancy of the engines was about 25 hours, then again they didn't expect to return (ditch and get picked up by U-boat). As a point of interest, in your earlier vid I noticed the yellow triangles marked as "B4", ie petrol grade B4. Surprising given their jets ran on parfin! Of course we all make our models to please ourselves (and I like that you emphasise that to your viewers (no modellers police here)) but I prefer to have revolving props and rotating turrets, even openning cockpits. That allows a change of pose from time to time which can refresh the display a bit.

No, the E555-1 certainly didn't have the range to bomb New York, despite the box art! But later proposed developments of the basic airframe would have had the range for a one-way trip...

Oh, I am very, very far from perfect! It's the whole ethos of my channel - I'm a pretty ordinary model maker and I make mistakes. No point hiding them, especially if it can stop someone else doing the same dumb thing. Although in this case I'm going to say the instructions are not 100% clear....
@chrisfirth1803

@@garys_stuff well despite the instructions, it's a great looking kit. Funnily enough, I was watching a programme on UkTV yesterday, which mentions the Arado company and the Arado 555. It was about how they moved the factory underground into tunnels deep in the Polish countryside.

Your skills have improved so much since I styarted watching this channel. The E555 is a very rare kit and is only available from the US. It is one of Revells best selling kits and prices are around the 100 dollar mark.

The man who never made a mistake, never made anything! Maybe the lesson from the engines is to dry fit, pull apart and glue. None-the-less, a very nice piece of work and something you will be proud to display.

Hi Gary I was curious and looked up ejector seats. Apparently the first 'assisted' bale out of an aircraft used a bungee in 1910. Yeah I think I'd give that one a miss *lol* The first ejector seats as we would know them were developed by a Romanian inventor, Anastase Dragomir in the late 1920s. Heinkel and Saab also designed them in the late 1930s / early 40s. Predictably for a jet powered fighter, Heinkel designed theirs in 1940 for the Heinkel 280.

Very nice indeed! 👍 The mottled camo. looks terrific. 😃 I like the yellow RAF captured effect, although I do wonder whether the RAF would have repainted German warning/caution notices over the yellow paint, or whether they'd have used English translations instead.....? 😜
@garys_stuff
@garys_stuff Жыл бұрын
I did think about finding some "no step" and "no push" markings from other kits but I think they may have left the top side alone unless they were to repaint it completely. My Me 163 had a load of German language stuff on it still. But yes, I suspect they would have put new things on the underside... maybe tyre pressures in psi for example?

I am confused why are you gluing painted part to painted part? The bond is nowhere near as strong as the plastic cannot fuse together properly.
@garys_stuff
@garys_stuff Жыл бұрын
Well, in my experience it works. I'm not clever enough to build an entire kit then paint it all. Some of it has to be painted first. On some parts, like undercarriage doors, you can always carefully sand the contact faces.
