My personal favorite way is to 1. Build up a farm with every Fluffalo 2. Trade the elemental items they drop (scorched cores, venom samples, etc) for "Perfectly Generic Items" 3. Forge Perfect Leggings every time you get 20. 4. Sell them and get 10,000 pixels a pop. (Other parts of the perfect set require more perfectly generic items, but they sell for the same price.)

Yup, that's what I do. Literally the only thing stopping me from being filthy rich right now thanks to all my elemental cores is the fact that I haven't gotten a replicator yet on this character, so I can't craft the perfect set yet. In fact, currently my equipment is only t2 or t3 so it'll be a while yet... At least if I keep dragging my feet on mining. I digress. That barrier to entry aside, it's a great strategy :-) Edit: Besides, I prefer spending my titanium (and the other stuff) on actually getting/upgrading a space station like it's intended to be used for. Those things are AWESOME. The only downside is they can't be piloted like a ship... Though I'm tempted to look into modding to see if there's a way I could add a way for them to at least be moved between systems :P

Make a big farm with many levels, plant cocoa, because their seeds stack and then just start crafting chocolate near your telemart shipment. EZ. A full inventory of chocolate bars estimates at 1404 pixels. Imagine having 6 levels of cocoa plants that occasionally drop seeds upon harvesting. You'll have an ever - expanding source of chocolate and pixels.

It's worth mentioning that you can easily navigate 0-G environments with the grappling hook. You can craft it- an infinite-use rope with no arc- at the fully upgraded foraging station. It's also easy to mine for titanium on the arctic planets found around frozen stars. Creatures rarely ever spawn in the caves and the only ore you don't find is the solarium stuff.

What I like to do, if you are not going to use the ore detector is to use your MM. The MM when you go to mine it emits light where your cursor is and you can use that to search for ores as well, but you want your MM fully upgraded. The lower right hand side in the MM upgrade UI

If you have an atomic furnace and a terramart shipments, it's more profitable to turn copper into batteries and sell those through the shipments system than refining it outright. It requires a bit of poison per battery but it's easy enough to make an infinite poison pool

The matter manipulator can also highlight ore that's still in the ground, if you don't have the ore detector. It's the cheapest and fastest way to check what's in the ground around you.

Still don't understand about buy Titanum - you will lose 18000 out of 30000 and still need waste of time to pick other part of titanum. It help only if you need only 12000, but you save only half of time to get titanum ore and lose more than half of money for buying titanum bars!

Going only one tier higher you can start setting up a fluffalo/perfect pants farm. Since that one is renewable and self-replicating (only costs pixels to expand) it's a lot simpler but given its steep initial setup costs this actually is a great way of paying for the initial fluffalo. Quick summary: mech asteroid mining requires titanium (T3) and completion of the Erchius Facility mission; fluffalo farming requires Durasteel (T4) to craft the pants and completion of the Grand Pagoda Library mission (that's 2 scan quests and 2 more bosses to kill).

hey, imo the fastest way to get cash is to buy one of each of the fluffalos, harvest them, craft 20 perfect cubes, and sell the trousers, they sell for 10K Pixels, and use that to buy more fluffalos, or if you are in multiplayer you can dupe animals by both using the relocator on it at the same time, i prefer this method because once you build up a supply of fluffalos, it is free and easy to use

depends if you get enough fluffs to outweigh it, as i said, i play multiplayer, we've got 240 of all fluffalos, just so that each harvest yields 12 sets of pants, giving 120K pixels, but its all about how much setup you are willing to put into it, and my favor for the fluff method, is you can do other things while waiting for their harvest timer to be ready again, and i dont need to spend all my time farming, im more in favor of passive income, not infrequent bursts

Just a tip: the mechanical crops that the glitch grow sell for quite a bit of money. I just put that terra-mart selling station in my greenhouse and plant a whole bunch of automatoes and stuff. The best part is its passive. You just have to come by and collect every now and then, otherwise you can do whatever you want.

Noticed the ridiculous sale price of those, and have been doing this myself. However, it makes no sense to purchase titanium in any quantity if you're after pixels. Profit of transponder sale vs refining required materials is just over 25k. Buying half the titanium costs 18k. A profit of 7k for less titanium mining effort is not a good option compared to 25k for twice that effort. Mining all the titanium earns pixels 3.5 times as fast.

Basically, it's this: if your scheme can't pay for all of a required material, then you shouldn't buy any of it. Not so basically: a person faced with the decision to mine all 100 units of titanium, or mine 50 and buy 25 bars, chooses between: Profit of 25,250 (30k minus mined material value in the refinery minus 1k cost) for mining all of it, and spending 2x time. Profit of 8,250 (30k minus mined material value in the refinery minus 1k cost minus 18k titanium purchase) for mining half of it, spending 1x time. Mining for all of it is 25,250 / 8,250 / 2 = 1.53 times better (blew my calculation in earlier post, forgot the x2 time factor). Overcoming the merchant's incredible markup on sales and even worse discount on buys takes a really big profit factor. The 150k pricetag on the transponder is not enough to justify buying titanium.

ONE beam drill alone mines a big area faster than a diamond drill. Two mine quick enough that you can get 1600 ore of all three types (I tested, mining with the normal mech drills is a lot slower than you said. I only got like half of what you said you could get in half an hour with those) found in asteroids within an hour even if you're taking it easy. That's more than twenty thousand pixels per hour with a refinery. That's relevant even lategame. Add in surface mining of titanium using the beam drills (with ship crew protecting your mech) to get transponders and you can get utterly ridiculous and become a millionaire in less than two hours.

Can you try to build an AFK farm using the sewer mobs? You know the mini sewer dungeon with the slime dudes, there's 5 for each dungeon and if you round them up and stuff them in a tight space they'll throw their mobs constantly. Tip: Money is actualy an ID for pixels so if you want to do /spawnitem pixel 10000 it wont work but if you type in /spawnitem money 100000 it will give you the pixels

remember, this was intended for people just starting out on a play through. Obviously it's not going to be as competitive a solution late game once you're comfortable with your equipment and stuff. Even the T5 ore to make the ore detector can technically be obtained somewhat early if you have enough healing supplies with which to resist Deadly Chill (of course if you're going to do that you may as well skip the other tiers completely, but that's beside the point)

Firespark, you're incorrect on their math being off. You spent an hour or so farming the gold and silver and titanium, and end up paying about 15K for the 25 titanium bars to make up the difference in titanium; this still makes a fair amount of cash, but the effort involved isn't minor at all.

holy crap I didn't realize those transponders sold for so much. Thanks for the tip (and have a sub as a token of said thanks)! that said, I'm pretty sure you're better off not buying any of the titanium if you want to maximize your profit. I'm not sure I can explain how, but the math works in my head and is purely algebra. I'm just not interested enough to formally check my math on paper or demonstrate it for others.

Well he said "Another 30k profit" however he had an initial investment of 18k so 30-18= 12k considering the time you will be spending mining all the material it will be +/- 30 minutes for the ore (about 200 of each if you are lucky) + 30 minutes on a planet for the 100 titanium (assuming at least 2 upgrades on the matter manipulator) = 60k + any profit you make from copper every 1h30m. However if you do his method you will get 60k on your first batch + copper profit an then -18k of profit at the expense of 15 extra minutes making it (6*-18=)-108k+60k(extra hour and half of saved time)= -48k every 1h30m than the other method, making it 12k + copper profit every 1h30min... TL;DR: You are correct sir, he would make much less profit by buying that titanium.

For average smart human the question and "dot dot dot" after the question mark clearly indicates the meaning of the question - right after the quotation. Also the wording indicates it too. Quote: "Though a rhetorical question does not require a direct answer, in many cases it may be intended to start a discussion or at least draw an acknowledgement that the listener understands the intended message." I've got a method that works better but uses mods mods: avail race mod (race extender needed), gardenbot2 , compact crops (optional), and steambound reloaded. abusing the fact that avali aeroponics tubes don't require water to grow shite, you set up rows of the three different avali crops with garden bots and chests for the bots to drop stuff off. then you connect the chests with pipes and a terminal to grab everything easily. then you wait an hour. do laundry or something with starbound running. 30k easy.

As someone with 1233 hours on Terraria and 154 hours on Starbound I think I could give a decent idea. I love Terraria due to it being a great game to build and fight in. It has a lot of stress on building a base with lots of occupants to progress against bosses in your own base that you design. Starbound, I have found, has more of an exploration basis in that there are basically infinite worlds for you to explore. With cooler looking, story based areas (That aren't randomly generated) to explore and find awesome loot and of course bosses. So really it comes to what you enjoy most. Do you like building and fighting crazy things or do you like exploring and fighting crazy things with story?

I have 255 hours on terraria (over 400 on mobile) and 231 on starbound. I play both of them a lot. I will have to say I prefer Terraria; I always get longer sessions of gaming and more co-op experiences. Starbound is very different. Most of my enjoyable moments have been just having a good time and chilling with friends, heck the most fun I had was sitting around a campfire playing the ocarina with em. If you have friends who also play Starbound, definitely get it. If you don't have many friends then get Terraria, finding good co-op with random people is way easier there, where as good co-op with Starbound is pretty hard to find. (Ik this is late, but it's for otherd trying to decide) Personally I prefer Terraria, because I am a guy who enjoys dodging and combat. Starbound was a bit too easy for my taste.

A Rocket Spear is much faster and more maneuverable than the starter mech and a fully upgraded MM mines faster than the drill arm. A fully upgraded mech with dual beam drills is faster than that though, so it depends on your RNG luck and which systems you progress in first.

I think I have a method that will put your method to shame.. requires a little bit of a search so most fresh players won't be able to do it, maybe. It would help and definitely speed up with a maxed out MM. if you go to a toxic planet, the planet with the ocean of poison water, just mine up the poison water. Sell that for a quick profit. *protip if you drop a drop of poison in water it converts it to poison water. Not sure if this can work on an ocean planet. Also it's worth noting I've only played Starbound for about two weeks, so if you have any tips for me, please feel free to share.

FireSpark81 each poison sells for 3 pixels however.. the beneficial part is that it's simple and easy. And mining up the poison is fast and can add up quickly. May I ask for a shout out if you do do a video about it? Also don't believe me test it out yourself. No mods installed when I first did this.
