I have heard that wrong hole insertion has often resulted in extreme louds.

I can tell you from experience, that you are correct.

I can confirm lubrication often helps but every once in awhile (especially if said hole has a red label) you will still experience extreme louds.

I have an external speaker for my vehicle's Mobile Radio. It is unpowered unlike these nice ones. And I mounted it on a magnet. Most of the time it lives behind the drivers left ear and works great. Without annoying your passenger. I'm also able to move it to outside the vehicle if we're sitting around in lawn chairs supporting an event

I have been a HAM licensed operator for 37 years and I can assure you that the FCC does indeed regulate the volume from your radio. Too much volume can make nearby objects resonate and produce spurious emissions that interfere with nearby allowed emissions, especially nocturnally.

Been looking at the Midland SPK200 for a while now. I have the Midland MXT500 mounted on the left side of my center console. It's an awesome radio, but I have issues hearing it out on the trails. The extra louds from the SPK200 will come in handy. Now, I just need to figure out where to mount this damn thing. It's bigger than I thought.

Uh huh.. Except many cars/stereos do not have a place to plug a radio into and most car stereos will not let you listen to both the music and something else plugged into it at the same time, as many people prefer to do.

Yep!, Plus, unlike car stereo speakers, Speakers specifically made for "comm" gear are designed to give the best AUDIO frequency response to SPEECH. Same with microphones. A mic made for singing is not as good on a two-way radio, nor is a CB/HAM/GMRS mic any good for singing. @@TheNotaRubicon

Randy I have a question about the Radioddity DB25-G. Aa an older person I can barely hear the speaker on this radio. I have yet to get an external speaker to work on this radio. Apparently most external speakers require a TRS connector. This radio seems to except a TRRS connector. Do you know of any external speakers that work with it?

Yes, without power the SPK200 sounds just like a SPK100, but with a more expensive sticker on it.

I got a new Baofeng vr5 because sooo many KZbinrs gave it good reviews. I have my squelch set on 3 and loaded it with 24 frequencies, tried both antennas and I can't pick up 💩, other than Ham radio and school bus dispatch!! 🤔
