Awesome, as someone who already knows how to program, this is exactly what I want when learning a new tool/language. A 15 minute quick overview over the basic features/syntax just so I can get started with something simple. I don't want to listen to an hour long tutorial just to hear what if statements, for loops or objects are for the 99th time. :D

Btw everyone who didn't know this: If you type a line and probably need 90% of this line again, just press CTRL+D instead of selecting the line, pressing CTRL+C and then pressing CTRL+V right below. Saves alot of time! (Let's say you need 4 lines in a row, just select all 4 lines and by pressing CTRL+D you get the same result ^^)

You know what's so weird?? Some people (ME) Actually learn like this. Not on the first try but just having a video I can scrub through that goes through most of the basics with absolutley ZERO nonsense. Sometimes the LONGFORM tutorials aren't made this simply, there's a certain Unity Bird one that comes to mind. I know this video is a huge joke/meme, but you did an incredible job explaining and this is SERIOUSLY the only video on this damn website that connected this software to my ADHD brain. You actually did an incredible job showing the UI, how asset creation works, and even showing me that this is a node-based software which I had no clue about till now. Be proud ...your meme was actually EXTREMELY helpful. THANK YOU.

Thanks, this help me understand the basics of GameMaker 2. I just downloaded it, like a few hours ago and have little experience in making games. The only time I can think of that I coded a game. Was back in 2014 when I coded a simple game in a robotics class using GameMaker. But GameMaker was super basic back then. There was no typing code out like in this version. It was just make spites, add events to them (that were pre coded), put the sprites in a room press play and GameMaker did the rest.

Tried to get fancy with the room_goto part, made a few different rooms. (1. game over. 2. are you sure you want to continue? 3. Okay, your choice.) and it simply doesn't go to the rooms between. The first and last room work, but not the one in the middle. I've used the proper index coding for each room/event, so why does this not work? (I solved my own question! So, basically, I copied each room and made changes accordingly, instead I removed all instances for each room and then re-added them and now they work fine. Must be some issue with the call system when copying and then changing information.)
