I really wish there was just 1 comprehensive guide to shader graph effects. All the tutorials I find are always so narrow visioned on just 1 effect or they're way too complex for me to wrap my head around it

Having the card visual just be a separate object that lerps to the actual card's position is such a simple but effective method! I am going to have to remember that one. 😮

It is very addicting how everything blended together from the sound effects to the way you interact with the cards, hits the dopamine real good heard the dev from an interview that he has a lot of testing just to make it feel right and it shows

Holy crap, that decoupling of the logic and lerping was such a simple and effective solution. I've never quite thought to do something like that.
@NihongoWakannai6 ай бұрын
It's useful for almost anything with smooth movement, including player characters. It's easier to do calculations for simple straightforward movement but it looks ugly, so you just need a nice coat of paint on top.

Awesome & illuminating video! Welcome back! I didn't even think of having the board itself be 2D with anchored, separate 3D visuals. That makes so much more sense and really simplifies the way that you interact with things. 😀 Thanks!

Gotta say - this channel continues to be the best channel for breaking down some iconic elements of the games people play Being able to attempt to recreate something on your own is an amazing skill to have in life - especially in game development Here's to hoping this channel continues on and inspires more people to take a crack at this sort of thing 😄

looks great! something I noticed while playing was just how much polish there was for sound effects, actions and visuals.. it does make the game feel better but I wonder how much of its appeal can be attributed to details like that

Hey! I was wondering if you've seen the blood in a game called Nidhogg? I've never seen an effect quite like it in a videogame, and I can't find ANYTHING about it online. It spurts out of its pixel art characters LIKE CRAZY and then dynamically coats the environment and drips down it, and stays there forever, it's super impressive. Only thing remotely like it that I've seen was Overgrowth's blood system (Overgrowth is 3D though) where it drips down a characters fur, that system's pretty cool too and I think Overgrowth is open source, but... not quite what I'm talking about anyway. If you see it and think it's as cool as I do, I'd be super duper curious how the effect is created! I've been wondering for years why it isn't in more games :P love your videos!
