@@HaydenHuynh i saw some other mj tribute artist online saying that he applies some products to keep/repair their jackets from damaging, specially those faux leather ones. just wondering if you do the same or has any other tips to maintain quality

Interesting! To be honest with faux leather / PU leather - it's not the same quality as real leather so I just take them with extra care - they just peel easily. Put all the jackets on coat hangers and give them a spot clean. Obviously get real leather over fake as it lasts longer and overall just simply better. Some AliExpress sellers sell inferior quality of the same outfit so be best to look at genuine product videos / pictures. Can't really though give too much advice though, most of it is common sense

My best tip would be prevention. For example, I only use my real leather jackets for meet & greets/photos, video-shoots, and high profile clients. I try not to perform in them as the movement and moisture I produce would compromise the leather. As for the synthetics, I found that my PU leather Thriller jacket actually looks better the more distressed it gets from every show, and I use that one for all my performances. As a touring professional, I keep a rotation of multiple costumes so I can let everything breathe, and dry clean regularly without having any downtime. If things breaks I even have a professional who can make repairs, most commonly to zippers and rips. Eventually, they’re all going to wear down, regardless of material, so just treating them like they’re your best friends is really all I can recommend. I hope this helps you on your journey!
