Never heard the AT fluid trick! Crazy! I think part of the intimidation is the time it takes to setup the power washer, etc. If you’re garage is setup where everything is super accessible, definitely no problem. I have some stuff buried (mostly woodworking stuff!), so whenever I pull out the pressure washer to do something I go around and collect things to be washed haha. I even asked my neighbor if he wanted to hose off his tow-behind aerator today! He didn’t… but that’s when those things are 5 minute jobs, when the power and water are all connected already!

Bro if your going to clean the mower you atleast have to take the engine cover off and clean the cooling fins. This is where it will matter the most. Everything else is cosmetic besides some rust preventing on the deck. You should also clean your cooling fins on your weed eater and blower every season.
