If you are using the painter's blade and if you own basic tools grind or sand the back edge off. At the back portion where if you were to put a edge on it sand that part off then separate. No more wedged angle

That’s some good stuff there. After your last video talking about the disappointing leather cuter, I searched for on on Amazon, and came across one called “OwnMy Leather Cutting Tool Leather Strap Cutter with Aluminium Handle” for $17. Was able to cut belts down to 4 mm, not as small as yours, but very useful for knives I tried it on.

enough to split it but not slip out about 1/4 inch is plenty

Too bad you don’t know anyone that sharpens blades. They could probably just hit those dull razor blades and get them back to splitting belts in no time. 😂
