First of all, ask your mom/aunt/grandmother if they still have any of these bows!! I had loads in the early 80s!! In English, these clips were called „barrettes“... also, if you have thick hair, you will need a bigger size than this and remove the rounded part (as someone else mentioned) but you won‘t be able to wrap the fabric under the bar if you want to be able to close it over your hair, just stick the bow on top. 👍

So nich Frollein You might be surprised at what some women still have kicking around from these kinds of stores - my favourite hair clips (a particular kind good for thick hair!) are two pink plastic ones (!!) I bought cheaply in 1979 when I was 14, still going strong 40 years later... 😳👍

I love bows and always have one in if my hair is up. I’ve sewn a few to hair ties, as well. I might try this method with some thin ribbon for when my hair is half up. I just chopped my hair, it’s a bob with the length to the middle of my neck, so I like a smaller bow now

Nancy Johnson „Back in the day“ you often had a skirt guard on your rear wheel as well as over your chain; I used to have a contraption with a multitude of strings over the rear wheel as a guard, too. No idea if you can get these still! Try „wheel guard“ or „skirtguard“?

Dear friends! Please don't burn yourselves trying to stabilize edges with a lighter or hot glue! There is a nifty thing called Fray-Check you can get at almost any craft store that prevents pesky frays. And it's completely invisible and cheap!
