Hello again fellow Canadian :) These type of lights out , power outage kits are useful to have as losing power can happen from many different reasons like freezing rain or strong gale force+ winds. Just to add, adding flashlight in a washroom and next to the bed are useful. (might be in the shower or tub or sleeping ) . Solar flood or garden lights can be an option. These kind of "couch/bed" forts can help (smaller space to keep warm and using one main light/power source) Coolers can be used in winter with snow or ice.( i actually did that when the fridge broke , lucky it was winter) Pots /pans that can handle "open flames"(BBQ, grill, campstove, fire pit )like cast iron take CaRe people
