Alex these pieces are very lovely. My friend and I were looking at some illustrations in an old (1950-60's) book recently and discovered they were created using this method. We are both printmakers so could really appreciate them even more than one might have at first glance.

Hello, I don't know if you will answer me or not But I am Iranian and I could hardly understand by translating your video I have a couple of questions Is that black acrylic? And what is that white medium that was in the first movie, where can I get it?

The white liquid is called fluid medium (sometimes called pouring medium). It basically extends the amount of acrylic or other paint that is mixed with it. The black liquid is Cera Colours (brand) Mars Black (colour name). It's not acrylic paint, it's a water soluble cold wax paint. Hopefully that helps. 👍

I'm using Ceracolors paints and mediums from Natural Pigments. They ship internationally, let me know if you decide to try it out. Everything can be found here: www.naturalpigments.com/paints/encaustic-wax-paints.html

I’m having difficulty finding the fluid medium in stock can I use the gel instead?

What is the medium added to the black? Will the black scratch off too?
@alexrydlinski2 жыл бұрын
That's Ceracolors Fluid Medium. I haven't had any issues scratching off the first layer, and I'm not being too careful. It holds very well.
