Amazing. I've only been to the San Juan's once, but so beautiful. So similar to here. Glad you tried it 🙌

I would have put the garlic and rosemary in a cheesecloth! With the herbs tightly tied inside! Cheesecloth will allow for the infusion to happen and no mess!

Thank you for this video. You speak clearly, you get to the point and you make it sound easy. I want to make my own sea salt. I am glad that it is not a complicated process! In the UK people have been putting about lots of unhealthy, cheap, low quality table salt in almost all foods in the supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pubs, canteens, cafe's and also hospitals. This even though EVERY book on nutrition states VERY CLEARLY to NOT eat refined chemical salt because it has been linked to MANY health complaints!!! Everyone is supposed to be AVOIDING it!!! These books state that everyone should eat unrefined natural salt instead eg sea salt. You would think that people based on an island would specialise in producing JUST unrefined natural sea salt as it is best for eveyone's health and use that in all the foods and drinks about but that is not what is going on in the UK!!! We are surrounded by seas and ocean water over here but for some reason most of the population have been filling everybody's foods and drinks with the unhealthiest, lowest quality, cheapest, refined, chemical, manmade salt instead of focusing on producing just unrefined natural salt like sea salt or ocean salt and using that instead in all the foods and drinks. It is NOT difficult to produce sea salt so why are people wasting lots of work hours and resources mass producing unhealthy, refined, chemical, manmade salt making people ill instead of focusing their energies and resources on producing just a healthy unrefined salt like sea salt??? What is the point in wasting lots of resources and working hours on producing something very bad for everyone's health, something that everyone is supposed to AVOID and that causes people a more miserable time??? People do NOT seem to understand the phrase PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE over here. They love to put about mainly unhealthy foods and drinks that cause illness and then when they feel unwell they complain about all their health problems to the planet constantly asking money about their health problems. They just need to focus on using healthy ingredients in their meals eg healthy salt and not unhealthy salt. They need to focus on improving their diet and ACTUALLY bother to follow healthy eating and living guidelines every day. This would prevent most of their health complaints and reverse horrible symptoms. They do NOT seem to understand it over here. Does anyone know how to STOP AND COMPLETELY BAN production of refined chemical salt all over the world as it has been linked to MANY health complaints and everyone is supposed to be AVOIDING IT??? The planet is covered in seas and oceans there is no need to make unhealthy chemical manmade salt at all!!! Does anyone know how to get salt factory staff around the world focused on producing ONLY healthy unrefined natural salt instead of refined salt? And does anyone know how to get food and drinks producers to use ONLY healthy unrefined salt in all the foods and drinks about and NOT chemical, manmade, refined salt??!! Please help if you know how to achieve these things. It is very important! A nut milk bag would work I think to strain the sea water at the start of the process. You could line your baking tray with baking paper so that the salt does not rust or stick to the baking tray. Metal oven baking trays are a PAIN to clean and keep in a nice condition. You could maybe also add the garlic and rosemary to the baking tray, on the side, to dry it out in the oven and then mix it into the salt at the end so the garlic and rosemary do not get thrown away. Have you tried this? Would the baking and salt prevent the garlic and rosemary from getting mouldy? Garlic is very good for the body, it should not be thrown away. How often did you check on the salt and stir it after putting it in the oven? Every 10 mins? Have a nice day!

What about cheese cloth or muslin to steep the garlic, etc in?

Would this work on the fruit leather tray in a food dehydrator to save turning the oven on just for that?

I actually made some salt in February, following the instructions in your first seasalt video. Turned out great! My only concern is: how can i be sure it's really clean enough for eating? There is no visual contamination like sand. But what about smaller things, like micro plastics? Should I have this tested before letting my family eat it? And how would i do that?
@dantefuego Жыл бұрын
this is not the way to make salt, you do not boil down to solid.. heavy metals like magnesium and calcium are retained and make it bitter, you must only boil down the water to a certain level where the salinity is so high that salt crystals naturally form in what's left over in the water.. you than scoop Those out of the "Brine" essentially and dehydrate that

It shows there's one reply but when I come here I don't see the reply to your question

There's microplastics everywhere at this point, my friend. When you gather the water you could try letting it sit for a couple days and decant. Then again for another day and decant. All the heavy object would sit at the bottom if you happened to grab sand and other large particles. It would equate to a bit less salt produced.

Most foods contain refined chemical salt and people do not seem to worry about eating it every day! It is not good for them but they do it. They add refined chemical salt to foods and drinks a lot and then people complain about health problems. At least with sea salt, most of the salt is salt and natural. Lots of fish live in the sea and they are healthy looking fish. Then it should be good enough for human consumption too. If the fish are diseased and very off in a particular area then I would avoid getting sea salt from that area. eg near factories. I would avoid areas where there are many boats or where waste pipes go into the sea too.

Have you thought of boiling the water half and harvest the accumulated salt pieces in the water ? Instead of boiling and drying the water in the container.

What about the bitter magnesium salts that are left? They are bitter. Luckily, there are ways around it if you search it up. I DO know that Magnesium salts evaporate faster than table salt.

You cannot. Fresh water does not have salt in it. Tap water also does not have salt.

You buy sea salt... and blend it with your garlic and rosemary... this recipe requires ocean water....but that's how you make rosemary garlic salt
