In today's episode, I show you a simple DIY shortcuts keyboard.
Great for productivity or just for saving time.
I used USB number pad combined with a free software called "Hid Macros" and custom labels.

You can make it "coffee-proof" by applying a clear coat of acrylic medium or varnish over the labels! thanks for the video!!!

I use peal and stick document protector for my labels. I print them in color on label material and seal them with the document protector. The cut them out and stick them.

Avery has 1/2 inch round or square labels for printers. The DURABLE, EDGE-TO-EDGE ones are available in waterproof and were perfect for my keyboard. I was able to print out very nice stickers that fit great WITH NO CUTTING! Good Luck.

2:30 You could get a mechanical board and use relegendable keycaps. It will add expense to the project, but it will make your keys "coffee-spill-proof" 😆 Thanks for the video.

I'm not sure if it would be possible but take the keys off and paint over them with some sort of clear coat that will seal in the paper.

If you contact a local signmaker or car wrapper they will have a high quality cast laminate and you can use that to laminate the printed keys..

Question,after remapping a keyboard, will the functions saved to the keyboard when i use it to a different computer? Or it will only work on computer were the program is installed?

Nice one! I would definitely put shortcuts to facebook, twitter and other social media. Also gmail. Maybe if you cover buttons with nail polish they will last longer.

I also thought about the nail polish, but I am not sure if it will last. I think it might even bleed the ink. Nail polish will probably crack with the time or come off. I think i might try it anyway :) Cheers

Coffee proof? Just use clear tape to fasten the labels onto the keys. Make sure there are no air gaps. Can't be any simpler.

1:05 "It's cool, man!" Lol! If I could build a simple gadget it would be a button that plays you saying that. And oh, it may not look nice but covering your keyboard with plastic wrap waterproofs it.

This doesn't work in Chrome, Firefox, etc, in Windows 10. Any idea why and how to solve this? The HidMacros dosn't recognise the event in those software's... I check it in the "Test area - alst input event" in HidMacros :(

How did you use the "numlock" key. with HIDMacros I can predefine a keyboard sequence for the "numlock-key" But the numlock-key also disables all other keys on the numpad. Can I disable the original numlock-key function somehow?

+laptopersatzteile24 Sorry, I just don't remember. I stopped using the keyboard and the software. I have a fish memory on these thing. If I stop using something, it does not take long for me to forget how to use it. I remember that the Numlock key worked, but not perfect. There were times it worked and times it did not. So I ended up not using it at all

If you press "scan" under the "Trigger" section of the program it will work just fine without working as it normally would. I don't know if you still want to know this after 4 years though...

maybe with some shrinking foil and a hair dryer to cover the keys but it need to be a thin foil

i want to create my own for ableton live. there is the zoom in key command that is "+". how can i map it if the + signs in hid macro is "shift"?

There is this horrible problem with hid macros, where the special keys used to write letters with a tilde (such as á è ö) produce a ´´ `` ¨¨ respectively. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I tried that software but it screws up my inputs in Star Citizen, just from being launched once and I have to restart Windows, to get normal controls back. (backwards thrust, braking and deaccelating isn´t possible if hidmacros got launched once) Is there any alternative or a solution what could circumvent this beahviour? (it also happens if I remove ALL binds, just start up the application once)

Record one action for rotating left and another one for rotating rigger, define the input trigger and remap the keys in the numpad to those inputs

Nice one! I've tried HID-macros some time ago in order to connect a second keyboard and turn it into a hotkey board. I ran into some problems, because HID-macros conflicted with custom Language (for my case - Latvian) special character generation key. In the end I couldn't write any of those special characters, so I ended up not using this.

Права администратора. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXm0dYOdmK-fnMU 2 UP всё довольно просто! Заработала дополнительная клавиатура вторая. Продаются отдельными блоками такие клавиатуры. Теперь это отдельная настраиваемая клавиатура. Теперь есть возможность выставить необходимые параметры и макросы. Автор программы спасибо!!! Thanks you!!!
