I love the idea of bringing the outside to the inside with coaster tiles, and hand stamped and colored really make them special.

OMG Tami! I do the same thing with StazON inks! They smell so good. I really do love the coasters. What a beautiful little gift that would make. I like the use of similar hues and tones...very nice.

I love this video! Can you use other forms to color in an image, such as water color or ink?

Hello! First time watching here! Great video!! Question, please… can I paint with anything besides alcohol markers? I only have Zig watercolor markers and gel markers. Don’t have Stazon , but do have Ranger Archival black ink. Any advise? I have lacquer, clear engine spray or Polyvine to seal with. All are heat resistant and even very hot cups will not stick.

Hi there. Beautiful coasters. I always love your ideas. I do have one question though. I have made these before and find that if I cover them with a clear coat of some sort, the coaster is not as absorbent. I usually just use StazOn and then bake them to set. I have not used Blendabilities yet. Will they behave the same way as StazOn and not bleed if they get wet after I bake them? Thanks....Again, love your great creative mind. lol.

If you don't color them and just use Staz On, you probably don't even need to bake it. Once it's colored, you will need to seal it with acrylic or another sealer. Someone mentioned an engine lubricant they used to make it heat proof, but I'm not sure that would help with absorbancy. ~ Tami

great idea, but the StazOn can ruin your alcohol-pens, because the alcohol smears the ink and the ink will go on to your pens. StazOn is great for watercoloring. But with alcohol pens memento is your best choice. I have no idea how memento will stay on a tile, but I would be to afraid to use my blendabilities, copics or other alcohol based pens with StazOn.

Yes, true story as I mentioned the Staz On and the alcohol markers don't always get along. However if the ink is totally dry on the tile (unlike my example in the video) I found they didn't bleed unless you really went over the staz on a lot. Momento ink did not work on the tile sadly. That would've been my first choice...you can also heat emboss instead of Staz On. The result was worth it, sooo amazing!
