Btw... I took a dime and placed it on the glass of my SC64c LE. It fit perfectly. So you could easily use a dime as a cutting guide. I discovered it also works for a variety of other small flashlights.

An excellent idea, thank you for sharing it! I can't believe the CRI of these LEDs, 97 or 98 is amazing.

Great idea with the uv resin. LH351D'S are one of my favorites once you fine tune them with some Zircon minus green. Plenty bright even with the filter, great CRI, and a nice floody beam. I could be wrong, but I think that the filter even improves the R9 color rendering a little bit. Regardless, great tip for greatly improving the tint!

I know the r9 improves, I’ve seen the data on the Sekonic.

I've been doing this for a while with both minus green and dc-fix, and being someone that can't cut shapes to save my life, I just get craft hole punches in different diameters to get a perfect circle every time.

I wonder how much output a nice new XPL-HI V2 would have... Has anyone put a new XPL-HI in one of these?

I was thinking, oh man -- he did it -- came up with a surefire way to get the bezel and glass of without breaking it! *darn* Well, knowing what McBob goes through on his mods, I'm not surprised there's no trick here. Yep, the front glass of a small flashlight like this doesn't really get dirty all that often, so applying the filter on the outside is workable. I forgot I actually have a little 804 left over and will have to try it out on my SC64c LE. Thanks!

I ordered some not realising the size and ended up with a 1mx3m roll of 803 i only wanted it for 1 light.🔦😂

Great mod. Do you provide services for Zebralight flashlights?
@cheule Жыл бұрын
I don’t, it’s a tricky thing. Look for Bob McBob on r/flashlight or BLF.

Does the UV resin change with time, like become yellow, yellowish?

Nope! I have some that is very old, and it looks clear.

would you be willing to formally review this light even though you have moded it ?

I actually don’t know how much there is to review! I don’t mean that flippantly, it’s probably the best/smallest 18650 edc available in the world.

Cool mod, but it's not that hard to pop off the lens retaining ring with an xacto blade.

I assume the SC65c HI largely solves this problem?

Yes
@kodyschmautz7799 Жыл бұрын
The real "win win win" in my book is just the bone stock sc64w-HI. Much higher output, more efficient, negligible loss of CRI and my copy at least has a decent mostly neutral tint a smidge on the creamy side with no visible tint shift from L1 - H2 and the fat cree die makes for a fat beam with a strong hot spot with more than enough throw for EDC and I wouldn't even call it spill, it's more just straight flood on the outer. About twice the out put, imo better beam, more efficient and better tint than the LE (without zircon mod)... So let's discontinue it and only offer the inferior LIMITED edition model now. ??🤔??
@cammedeiros Жыл бұрын
Does the zircon green lose its effectiveness over time?
@BullstrongDVM Жыл бұрын
It will not as long as it doesn't get damaged/melted/etc.
@cheule Жыл бұрын
Only extreme heat or chemicals will damage it. But honestly it’s dead simple to replace.
